One of my friends studied at SASTRA University. According to him, Mechanical engineering is pretty good when placements are considered.

The overall academics and curriculum are average.
The faculty are highly experienced but are very few in number.
Students interested in Research are provided appropriate guidance and backup for it.
Intra and Inter-departmental technical festivals also are conducted.
Mechanical Engineering students have their labs dedicated to their department.
Students take part in events conducted by SAE which make a real good addition to your resume.

The college has vast area for first years the labs are available at different areas so difficult to maintain time.

In this college, for everyone has same fee structure. To get into this college there are 2 way. One by submitting the 12th marks alone or else 12th mark plus JEE mains marks. By this marks, you are allotted to different ranks according to your marks. The seats allotted according to ranks which have more types like Thanjavur rank, Trichy rank, tamilnadu rank, all india rank etc.. by these u are allotted and by NRI also u got allotted into college. For every seats the fee is 2.5lakh if ur a hosteller and for nri it is more.

Fee per year ranges about 1,80,000.. During the time of admission we need to pay development fees of about 10000.. Scholarships also provided..Students from North eastern and From Jammu kashmir have special scholarship on fees

If you belong to top 5% of the department you will be awarded with scholarship. I have no idea how much money they give since I never got a chance. Plus you maintain good attendance and your score high say 85% no hostel fees
