IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The placement records at IIT Kharagpur is quite impressive. All the final year students gets chance to appear in the placements. Many renowned companies like Google Microsoft qualcom Tata motors Maruti Suzuki etcetra are some companies that come in IIT Kharagpur for placement. This year it Kharagpur had a very good placement record the highest package of 2 crore and average packages of around 8 to 12 lakh

Course structure is quite good. Only need the guidance which course is good of us. Syllabus is quite lengthy. I think theoretical knowledge is good but need of some practical knowledge is required. Laboratory work should be divided so that each students experience the best.

Approximately all the students in our college will get placed. Many big companies will come to our college for taking students. Students frkm tge 7th semester are eligible to sit for the placements. Thjs year the highest package of our college is 2.4crores and approximately 1700 students got placed. Average package for this year is 15-20 lpa. I want to get placed in finance sector. I didnt get a placement yeat as i am still in my 2nd year.

Placements in the campus are good. Most of the tech companies allow all the branches to sit for the tests. Eligibility criterial for many companies is around 7 CGPA. The average package is around 15 LPA. 90%of registered students get placed

The Students here can apply for CDC Placements in Final Year and if I tell about B.Tech. Specifically then in 7th Semester of their course. Many prominent companies visit here for recruiting the brilliant minds like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Intel, Qualcomm, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, IBM, Texas Instruments, Tata Steel, L&T, Bajaj Auto, Flipkart, American Express, Infosys, Wipro, PwC....and many more. There isn't any data provided by our institute to us stating of the highest and average package by particular comapanies and the profiles offered. But I can tell you of my department's 2023-24 CDC Placement drive: We had the highest no. of offers that is 128. Highest offer made was 1.4Cr INR pa and Median and average package offered were 21-22 lakhs pa and 25-26 lakhs pa respectively. almost 87% students had got placed in the last placement season. The 2024-25 Placement season isn't over now, but till Dec 2 2024, again we had the highest no. of offers that is 20. If I talk about my future plans, I want to go into reasearch in VLSI Industry in future as the VLSI is Tech of the future.

Placement opportunities are overall good, students can apply for the placement form 5th and 6th semester and can get PPOs's companies like Microsoft, google, amazon comes during the placement season and every year, so many students get placed even with a package greater than 2cr INR. The average package is around 18 Lakhs.

There are wonderful placements going on in our college. The person with good talent will for sure get job here. Even they may become wonderful entrepreneurs. Minimum package will be 6LPA and average will be 20LPA.

Almost 100% placement if you consider on campus and off campus placement both.most of the students go for software development or data science roles. Some goes for assistant professor roles in private engineering colleges. After third semester students are eligible for placement upto completion of their course. Major companies that hire are IBM, kal atm, siemens, arrise solution, virtusa, BEL,meesho, tiger analytics, ltimindtree, hcl technologies, hero fincorp, marcedes, SOA, mpocket, air india, morgan stanley, Just dial, Ering, HSBC, Bank of America and lot more. Offer ranges from 8lpa to 35lpa. My plan is to join job after completing my Mtech. Almost everyone got placement here.

Look there are very large audience in this campus. For this specialization thereare many competitors - B.tech , integrated m.tech and even m.tech. So on campus placements are big issue here, many seniors applied for off campus , some left and join NTPC .

The curriculum is relevant and well-structured, blending theory with practical skills. It prepares students for industry and research, though it can improve by adding emerging topics and hands-on learning.
