IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Placements in IIT KGP are one of the best in the country. Average package is around 25 lakhs of this college, highest being 2.4 crores in 2024 batch. Some of the companies visiting are:- Google, Flipkart, Sprinkler, Oracle, JP Morgan, BCG,etc. Some of the portfolios are that of SDE, Finance, Data Scientist, Data analyst, Consulting, etc. Percentage of placed students was about 90% in cse and 70% overall.

Placements of the college even during recession shows a lot of potential. Highest package was of the Computer Science department and was around 2cr annually for an international company. And average salary of all departments reaches to 9-11 lpa. Companies like Amazon, Tata, Flipkart, Gail all do look for the finest engineers at iitkgp

If you have opted for a 4 year B.Tech. course the placement season commences in your 7th semester and if you opted for a 5 year dual degree program it would begin in the 9th semester. As of 2024, most of the profiles offered by companies were related to either software development or data analytics. With a total of more than 200+ companies, including Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Samsung and almost all the big tech companies you might've heard of, the average package offered was around 17lpa with the highest going around 2.4cr. Almost all of the students get placed by the end of phase 2 of placements which means that even if you have made a decent effort towards your placement, you will have a job before you graduate.

IIT Kharagpur is hub for industries when it comes to hire the work force. Over 500 companies including all the departments are available here and talking about our department from L&T to Patel Engineering all the big firms that needs mechanical engineers never look beyond IIT Kharagpur. Over 90% students are placed and average for Mechanical engineering is less that other departments as it stands at 15 or so lakhs per annum as of 2024.

The placements at IIT Kgp are one of the best in the country. There is a career development cell, which manages and conducts placements each year. The average package is 16 LPA. After 7th semester Btech students can sit for the placements and after 9th semester dual degree students can sit for the placements. My plan is to go for a corporate job after getting the degree

The placement is good in IIT KGP in comparison to other colleges. People are eligible to sit for placements in their fourth year can sit for placements through CDC. The placements are held in two phases. In session 24-25, we have seen 1000+ offers to students in first phase. After getting degree, I would also go for doing job.

If we discuss the campus placements then 4th and 5th year students getting campus placements. The companies that visited our campus are: - Google, Facebook, Infosys, Unacedmey, Apple, Qualcomm, Flipkart, Amazon, Tata Steel, Capital One, and many more. The number of offers made by the company in 2024-2025 is 1165 offers to 950 students. The highest package is 2.14 crore and the average salary is about 25 lakhs per annum. Every year mostly all the students get placed. If I talk about my plans then after getting my degree I prepare for the UPSE and IES exams.

From 6th semester students are eligible for internship and in 4th year students are eligible for placements. The placement of this institute is good. Microsoft, Google, PhonePe, Boat, Tata, etc. like these many companies visited in campus. The highest package in this year this is 2.7 crore per annum and average package is around 18 laks per annum.

Campus placements are quite good , 90 % will be placed and the remaining 10 % will also be placed unless they have no skills or cg , it is also quite luck based and unpredictable , my plans are doing mba in iim or go into pharma through core

I have taken 3 courses this year and the courses I have taken is as Transform calculus as this subject is mainly about math and linear alzebra. 2nd one is of Thin film and this is course of chemical deopartment \. and 3rd one is sports and well being.
