IIIT Guwahati Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

One is eligible to sit for placements from the seventh semester. the placement season is year-long and ends in august. Companies like amazon, tekion, ZS, Deloitte, Gameskraft, and many more come for on-campus placements. for the year 2020, the highest year offered was 66 lac and the average package was around 15 lacs. generally, the placement record is 100%.

Till now for current year 2021, 81.76% studends have been placed with an average package of approx 13 lakh per annum. 91.42% CSE and 66.15% ECE student have been placed. Student get offer from both on and off campus. Our past recuters are:- Amazon, Midticle ,swiggy ,jio, etc In the 2020-21 Highest package was 32.5 lakh in CS branch and 9 lakh per annum in ECE department with a medium salary of 10 lak per annum.

Placements start from 7th semester (4th Year). Companies like Amazon, Legato, TCS, Synopsis, etc. visit for on campus placements. We have a very good placement ratio and average package. For CSE, the average package was 13 LPA and 92% students were placed. While for ECE, the average package was 8 LPA and 66% students were placed. I'm planning on gaining work experience for 2 years after my B.Tech and then pursue MS Or M.Tech from abroad.

The placement was pretty good. The institute is of national importance. My general rank was 33331 and OBC category rank was 8100 and at this rank the best option for Cse branch was available in this institute so I took admission here.

Among new IIIT only very few has campus of their own, IIITG is one of them and the curriculum is also quite good and the placements are also decent. It is ranked No 1 among IIIT's in NIRF ranking and tge director of the institute is a very renowned person Mr Gautam Barua.

I choosed this institute because reviews were amazing on Quora about it, and also we talked to some of the faculty members of the institute, they convinced us that institute will be the best choice for us. I have even talked with the director of the institute, and after that I was pretty much convinced. Plus, this IIIT was new but it had just got its new permanent campus, so hostels were very new and rooms were big. Food was nice, compared to other colleges. And as seniors told us, faculty was also very helpful with the subjects. Bad things about the Institute is that, there is no facility around of it as it is a new campus. No stationary shop, no banks or nothing was around, we had to go to city to buy our stuff. Although, institute provided bus service every weekend to go to city and buy whatever we needed.

At the end of the 6th semester, Companies starts coming to our campus for JOBS. last year Amazon, Wipro, TCS and many others companies visited our campus. The average package in CSE was 13Lpa. The highest package in CSE was 56lpa. About 93 % of students were placed and the rest went for higher studies. I planned on getting a job and not doing more studies.

College management is good and really helpful the mess food is not so good also that canteen in our college is so pathetic. the infrastructure of the college is really good and the teaching is also really good placement is patient or college need to work more on skill building of the weak students.

If you need to persue academics it's the right place otherwise it's not the place to achieve something big in sports or cultural activities because then you should have taken up other majors. Institute lacks infrastructure but it's enough to get you through without any hindrance in academia, projects or research.
