Honest review of my college (CGC,Jhanjeri)

Likes

The things I liked around the campus is the food area, multiple places are there to get food
Very friendly and encourage you for the events

Dislikes

Attendance is the main issue, you have to complete the given percentage of the attendance otherwise you'll be detain for the Mst's

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm person who's fond of radio so it was my dream to become an RJ and by choosing this course I can do it and to be honest by doing this course you'll know about the Media industry and it will show how the things work and how media works and this course makes your personality as a confident person . Areas for the improvement is the practical teaching style ,most of the time students gets bored with the theory so the practical things should be more . Moreover the syllabus is quite easy and the exams are very easy to crack.

UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE AS A STUDENT OF FIRST BATCH OF YOUR COURSE

Likes

College has a great infrastructure and the vibe is also fun
Classrooms are well maintained and equipped with projectors for easy understanding of topics

Dislikes

The college is too far from the city area , so you have to travel a lot to get to the college if you are not opting for the hostel and if you try stay in the nearby villages like jhanjeri there isn't much there too there aren't any places to chill or
Relax you will have to stay in your room all the time
Sometimes rules are too strict like if you are 10 mins late to reach the college the the gates get closed and they just waste your time until you miss your 1st lecture and if you bychance forgot your I'd card you entry won't be allowed

Placement Experience:

I don't know anything about the placements yet because it was the first batch in the college for our course ( BSC biotechnology) when I joined but we have told that there will be practice classes for placement drives , you will be eligible for placement in your 6th semester or your last semester if you take another course which is longer , but according to my courses even if I am unable to get placement I can still join any biotechnology firms as a lab assistant.

Everything you need to know about CGC Jhanjeri

Likes

The campus is huge and neat. Their are multiple canteens and food stalls for students
Faculty is helpful and supportive and will help you when you need to be guided

Dislikes

Their is strictness. You can not roam freely in campus teachers will stop you and ask you questions about why are you roaming and why aren't you in class
They demand for fees frequently and call out your name in class if you haven't paid the fee

Course Curriculum Overview:

In Medical Laboratory science there are various scopes in future You can work in any hospital or even start your own business/Laboratory In real world you can learn how to deal with different persons when they are not feeling well and comfort them

University Life At CGC Jahnjeri

Likes

Faculty of college, hostel are very nice
Fests were held and every festival is celebrated
Greenery everywhere, playground is very big, and campus is also nice

Course Curriculum Overview:

The teaching methods are very good. Teachers are very supportive and helpful. They clear the doubts of the students. I choose B.tech CSE because my aim is to do engineering and take placement through this college.

Likes

The campus was good, staff was helping as well.
The campus was clean and classes were good as well
The activities which happened regularly which helps students to learn things.

Dislikes

Washrooms were not clean which is a basic thing for a girl.
The hostel facility was not good, i was not happy with that
A little travel issue occured while i was travelling

Course Curriculum Overview:

main focus was to study masters when i was in graduation as well. By going in the college for further process helps in preparation for real world. The exams was tough but not a little complicated. A little change can be helping those who are not understanding.

Likes

I liked the management and coordination between placement department.
Placements provided by company is definitely good.
The fees structure is affordable for us.

Dislikes

Sports and fitness was not considered on compulsion basis.
Gaps should be provided to students between semesters.
Space in college is less as compared to student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I rate this college a 6 out of 10. While the course curriculum impressed me, the facilities and labs fell short of expectations .Neverthless, the college offers ample opportunities for participation in hackathon

Lifestyle is good as diversity is great to learn from
Many events and singers perform, Its like normal when you are having CGC as a college.

Dislikes

Placement - They debarred just once you placed even in 4lpa company.
They don’t take student problems seriously after 1st year.

Placement Experience:

Yes, The placement cell is the same as of Chandigarh University. There are options to sit in placements from 6semester onwards but there is a huge shorting criteria that the college does as this is a joined placement cell of more than 5-6 colleges so the shortlisting internally is itself a challenge sometimes but if you have 90+ or 80+ then definitely not much an issue. The placement percentage is approximately 50%. Highest Package- 12LPA Lowest - 2.5Lpa Average- 4.5lpa many companies like KPIT, JP Morgan, Indus Towers, toddle,richpanel, Manikaran Power Ltd, and many more approx 1000 companies.

True face of CGC jhanjeri

Likes

Faculty is good and supportive. Treat very good
Campus life is good because of events and chill teachers.
Infrastructure is good and modern. And keeps on upgrading

Dislikes

Old curriculum is the disliked side here.
Few clubs are not working that we'll, I so lag at some point.
Students here are not that much aware about their fields, they are working on

Placement Experience:

From sixth semester you are elegible for placements. TCS, HP, Godrej, IBM, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, AWS, Microsoft, Bank of America, Capgemini, etc visit here for placement drive. Highest package is about 45LPA, and average is about 5LPA.

Decent College, Vibrant College Life, Lush Green Campus etc.
Experienced Teachers and very supportive
Excellent Placement drives and CCPD Classes are available for pre placement training.

Placement Experience:

The Last semester students Become Eligible For campus placements The Placment og cgc jhanjeri for BCA are generally good. Multiple top recuruiting campanies such as Amazon, adobe,Microsoft and IBM Visit the campus for placements. The Highest Pakage offered ranges from 35 LPA TO 40 LPA. The average salary pakage offered ranges between 4 LPA to 5 LPA.

Likes

I like to take part in hackathons and ideathons organised by college.
I like the fact that college organise many seminars and lectures in collaboration with famous personalities
College's infrastructure is top notch with affordable fees

Dislikes

Gender ratio is very bad in this Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri
Hostel environment is not good because students involve in bad activities such as smoking, drugs
Imposing 'Fine' culture is too much in this college.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good in Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri. Many company come in this college for campus recruitment. 800+ companies come for placements and 8500+ placement offers are recieved by students . Adobe , Google , Microsoft, byjus , the math company , etc. The average package here is 5 LPA and highest package is 45.5 LPA. Students from 6th semester onwards become eligible for placements. Percentage of students get placed is 60%

My cousin studies at CGC Jhanjeri and it's a nice and average place to be. Following are some issues though, which may be burdensome:

If you wish to go out during college hours then you will need to get an application signed by the CC and the HOD. The process itself will take up a lot of time.
Girls can stay out up to 7 pm in summers and 6 pm in winters and you can step out to roam in the campus by 4:30 and you will have to return in two hours to avoid sending a call home.
You should have at least a 75% attendance like most colleges, but it will be evaluated every 15 days. You will have to attend 75% of 15 days to avoid detention during the Monthly Sessional Tests of MSTs.
The campus is verdant and hygienic and it has a playground, but it is surrounded by grasslands on all sides up to 5 Kms. It has all the basic amenities like stationery shops, sports ground, pool, games room, etc.
Even transportation is an issue and autos and buses are the only way but quite time-consuming.

Hostel, mess food, cleanliness, room Sharing are not any issues at all. You will not have to worry about ragging too. You can go to Chandigarh for shopping after getting your passbook filled and signed by the Warden.

However, you cannot bunk because the campus is small, you can get discovered very easily and may face some good punishment. As for placements, it all depends upon research-based hard work and skills. Major companies do visit for recruitment.
