The college and govt provides various scolarships in support of the students like inspire scholarahip for she, the college provied financial assistance to ews students.
The faculty is also super talented and have a great knowledge.
Our annual fest tempest was one of the best times of my life with dj nights, neeti mohan, several stalls and the freedom of being in a gender minority college just made everything a million times better.

Dislikes

However, speaking for the political science faculty, although they are qualified, they are highly detached from the students.
Faculty somehow as it was sometimes not that good as we thought.
Apart from a few professors, the others methods of teaching are severely outdated and biased.

The beauty of Miranda

Likes

College has very nice infrastructure. The library building is quite resourceful and air-conditioned.
Spacious and lovely cafeteria. There are 3 canteens in MH - all equally beautiful.

Dislikes

Not all rooms are air-conditioned. the old arts block has only few rooms with proper air-conditioning. But it is getting improved as of now.
Classes start at 8:30, it's too early. should start from 9:30.
Some teachers teach solely for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Political Science honours because I am interested in understanding real world political scenario and its effect on the society. The course is very theoretical. It would be much better if we had real world examples at each chapter.

Miranda through my eyes

Likes

The campus life is very lively, including the events, societies, clubs, people.

Dislikes

The senior faculty has a lot of knowledge but however, they sometimes may feel intimidating.
The admin office experience, however thats bad at every college and institution.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course as geography honours includes the digital aspects, theory aspects, as well as interdisciplinary aspect, thus i feel like my course is very much comprehensive, the difficulty is moderate only in practical subjects other than that the theory subjects are very much interesting

I personally lovey campus and it's aesthetics. It's very clean and well maintained.
The teaching method, atleast in my department is good. Our teachers are super chill :)
It's a women's college, and I honestly feel so safe in the campus. Miranda is utopia.

Dislikes

Air conditioners not working/ not installed in most classes
Very less hostel seats, defeats the purpose of DU being cheap since pg/flats are very expensive to afford

Course Curriculum Overview:

For me personally, I don't really like the curriculum of english in DU. it's very old and outdated and sometimes very boring to study. exams were okayish, the questions are more or less repeated from the pyqs.

Good , friendly and safe environment for girls
Infrastructure and system is very good in the college
Teachers are very friendly and helpful for students

Dislikes

The timings of classes are quite hectic for us
There is very less time for breaks between the classes

I choose this course because the curriculum specifically include data structure ,c++ etc which is essential for my career goals. The curriculum is quite comprehensive and does a good job of covering the fundamentals though I feel it could be updated to include more modern tools like machine learning , AI, UI/UX DESIGN

Miranda house college

Likes

The college is very inclusive and diverse
There are a lot of workshops and activities conducted regarding future career opportunities
The college campus is full of greenery and that makes it really nice

Dislikes

The faculty at times is very strict and can also be a little harsh
The curriculum definitely needs some changes as it is not updated
Infrastructure wise , the quality cam be improved

The curriculum needs to be updates definitely as it is very muuch according to old times and includes concepts which may not be useful in the future. The difficulty level is mostly medium , it is not vety hard to get a good score if you have practiced well

College life : a short glimpse

Likes

The campus of Miranda house is extremely clean and full of greenery. It has a peaceful atmosphere to it
The college provides numerous societies for overall development of students.
The faculty is great here. My department professor are punctual and put their heart and soul in teaching.

Dislikes

I dislike the lack of certain attention For eg in washroom , the handwash liquids are not available in the dispenser a few times. I also once noticed a sanitary pads dispencer was not working. But overall there is hygiene in bathrooms.

The course I am pursuing was based on my personal interest. My college provides good faculty for my course . The curriculum is not exhaustive, it accurately covers different aspects of the course in a considerable manner . I personally believe this course will benefit me in my higher education as well

Why Miranda House was the Right Choice for Me.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I find the course curriculum relevant and fairly comprehensive, as it cover both fundamental concept and practical applications. The structure syllabus and inclusion of computer science subject influence my decision to choose the course. Its prepates well for real world skills and further academic studies. Exams are frequent and usually schedule mid semester with limited time, and making the moderate difficult improvement is needed in adding more updated contents.

A walkthrough of life at Miranda <3

Being in all girls is actually quite nice for me, i came from an all girls school so i find myself very comfortable. People are nice and friendly, the seniors are great too.
Classes happen as per schedule. As we have heard, du colleges are known for cancelling classes and professors not turning up but as for us, we mostly do all classes every week and on time.
The cultural fests and co-curriculars are very active. Something is happening every day which keeps campus life vibrant.

Dislikes

We have tests whenever the teacher wants to take them and millions of assignments. It would’ve been just better to hold mid-terms and have exams together instead of this confusing and unproductive grading system
Aec sec vac should not be as pressurising as they are because they in turn dilute the focus on core and GE
We do not have saturdays off and neither do we get restricted holidays. The college is ALWAYS OPEN AND classes don’t get cancelled even during big events even when the entire class doesn’t show up

Placement Experience:

I dont know much about placements as i am still in my first year. But we have placement cell entrepreneurship cell and enactus which i think prepare the students well. My plan is civil services as it has always been since childhood so i will probably not be sitting for placements

A first-year's perspective at Miranda House

Likes

Faculty is supportive and teaches concepts clearly
Campus feels really safe, lively and vibrant
The academic environment is strong and competitive

Dislikes

Some classes feel too overcrowded and uncomfortable
Administrative process is slow often taking a lot of time

Placement Experience:

Economics students usually get placement opportunities from the 5th semester. The placement cell offers internships and some job opportunities, though most students prefer higher studies. The overall employablity is good, however after my course i plan for further studies

The infrastructure gives modern yet colonial vibes. Classrooms are well equipped and the vibe is amazing
Probably the best faculty you can get the professors are understanding and very knowledgeable. More that students, they will treat you like their own children.
The campus is really vibrant. There is something happening everyday. It's always fun and never silent. North campus is definitely an additon to the Miranda life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is pretty interesting with a blend of both western and indian thought. Reading about Indian political thought for the first time in my life was definitely a new and a fruitful experience. Helps you to grasp the events happening around you in a more comprehensive and logical manner. It truly is amazing to read all the complex articles and figuring out the real meaning while reading between the lines.
