The college is best known for it's Mass Median Department and is the only college in DU offering this course. Admission to this course tales place through an entrance exam. It also has a Canara bank abs and a cyber cafe. Overall the college is one the best colleges of North campus, DU
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well de designed, ranging from core subjects to General elective subject, environmental science paper and an English paper( both of which takes place during the first year). For general elective subjects, we are given a range of courses to choose from and we have to study these for the first 2 years.
Internships Opportunities
Yes my college does provide internships. We have an Internship and Placement Cell in our college 'GEET" which provides both placements and internships for first, second year students and final year students respectively.
Placement Experience
The college has a well networked system for job opportunities. Reputed companies such as NIIT, Deloitte, Pinnacle and many more visit the college for recruitment process. The highest package this year was 7 LPA and the average was around 4 LPA
College Events
Various events ranging from the annual fest ' SHRUTI' , to the college day are celebrated in our college. Other important events include orientation program for students, sports day, and various seminars and conferences.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible ranging from 12,000-20,000 per year depending on the course. Although this is a bit expensive as compared to other DU colleges, but it's worth the infrastructure and facilities.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college provides fee concession and scholarships to economically weaker sections.The college also gives prize awards and scholarships to the all rounder and meritorious students of the college. All of this information is put up on the college notice board or website.
Campus Life
The college provides various sports facilities such as gymnasium, badminton court, squash court, table tennis, judo floor, shooting range,and even a swimming pool, all of which are very well maintained. There's are fully AC computer labs, an ICT centre and also an Audio Visual Production centre.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel infrastructure and facilities are pretty good. The college has 2 fully furnished and newly renovated hostels, accomodating around 500 students. The college has it's own auditorium having balcony seating, a swimming pool and even a gym.
Alumni/Alumna
Notable aluminis are Ambika Soni, Aruna Roy, Asha Pande. Alumini meet is held in the college.The senior students are helpful for providing notes and study materials and also helping in coping up with the new College atmosphere during the first year.
Exam Structure
The exam structure of the college is well laid. Semester exams take place twice a year. Each semester comprises of comprehensive activities such as internals, presentations and assignments. For the first two years, the exams also include one Paper of General elective subject that we have choosen.
Admission
My dream was to get into a prestigious college of Delhi University, which got fulfilled when I got admission in IP College. I got admission through merit basis in the third list which was probably the last list for my course. The admission process was very smooth and the entire staff was very helpful and supportive.
Faculty
All the teachers, staff and faculty of my college are very helpful, supportive and caring, be it the administration process, coping with the new College atmosphere during first year, or the last minute preparation of exams.
