Experience at NIT DURGAPUR

There will be a good atmosphere around in the college which allows the students to know about the external world and there will be great exposure as people from different states and cultures come and study together. The food in the hostels could be given a facility to customise.

The curriculum was very properly distributed and organised so that students also can involve in other co- curricular activities. The exam pattern till the batch 2020 was Mid semester exam: 20 marks Class assessment and attendance: 10 marks End semester : 70 marks There will be 8 semesters in total all over the graduation.

The placement Percentage is quite good at the college. The number of companies visiting the college are increasing year by year. Almost 75% of the students gets placed in good companies. There are different types of companies visiting the college like analyst companies, software, development, core companies and even there is mass recruitment. There will be companies visiting the college for internship even who select the students based on the performance in the interview.

There are almost 10 clubs in the college organising different types of events all over the year in different aspects.There will be technical fest named AAROHAN organised by the club CCA and the cultural fest named RECSTACY organised by the Student's Gymkhana.

The fee structure for the batch 2015-19 is ass follows For general/OBC : fee will from Rs.41600/- to. Rs. 42350/- For SC/ST : fee will be from Rs. 6600/- to. Rs. 7350/- The tution fee for SC and ST candidates is waived off

There will be a college merit scholarship offered to the students based on the performance in the semesters. There will be education loan provided by the banks in the college.Some departments get extra scholarship based on their merit

All the laboratory classes are included in the curriculum and are conducted regularly according to the schedule. There are good facilities for sports and extracurricular activities. In the first year there are credits in the academic score for sports and yoga.

All the students are to be resided in the hostel. The hostels are getting modified. But many of the hostels have very good infrastructure. And good facilities are provided to every student. There will be proper maintenance of the hostels and very good security facilities.

The alumni network is very helpful. Even if there is not a possibility of helping through the college , there will be a good contact with the seniors even after passing out the college and they give referrals for the companies and guide us for further education and opportunities.

There was a all India entrance examination called JEE MAINS. I got admission into the college through the counseling by JOSAA after the examination results. At first we need to give a list of choices at the JOSAA site and they get locked at the prescribed date. There will be almost 6 rounds of seat allotment. Once the seat gets allotted we need to go for certificate verification at the allotted centres by JOSAA. After the verification we need to report to the alloted college on the prescribed date.

The faculty are all very qualified and almost everyone are experienced. Many of them have a very good industrial experience. Faculty not only involves in the academics but also heads the co curricular activities happening in the college.
