Positive remark is it is a govt college.you don't have the burden of high fees There are lots of student clubs that will help you develop as a person Negative remark - no practical knowledge is imparted
Course Curriculum Overview
The course contents are a bit old.not much importance is given to practical knowledge. The lab sessions too are just to be done by yourself with less help from anybody.second third year are a bit hectic.
Placement Experience
The placements are good enough.companies keep visiting the campus throughout the year. The avg pay is also good. For internships too,few companies visit the campus in 3rd year and provide good stipend.
College Events
We have two fests Aarohan and recstacy Aarohan is the technical fest of the college and recstacy is the cultural fest Aarohan,i think, is the biggest fest in west bengal.it is spread over 3 days and generally occurs in February
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is a govt college hence the fees is on the affordable side. And there are benefits of you are from economically deprived family. Right now the fees per semester is around 70000 and for economically deprived students it is lesser
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a daad fellowship for students who want to go to Germany. Also there is a scholarship for students who intern at CERN at Geneva You can avail loans to play your semester fees and all your college dues.
Campus Life
The sports facilities here are not that good.there are not many trainers for all the games that can be played here. The ground is not upto the mark. But there are inter NIT tournaments.To which our college sends students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are on sharing basis. In the first year you stay in a different hostel. You don't need to pay anything extra for the hostels it is included in your semester fees.but you have to pay for the mess food separately
Alumni/Alumna
There are various student clubs in the college which help build up senior junior interaction. The seniors are pretty helpful in that manner. They also guide you with their experiences and help you in your lows.seniors from this college often end up at a good company.
Admission
I had given JEE MAINS.my all india rank was around 10k. Then i took part in the joint counselling and was alloted a seat in this college. There were 5 rounds of counseling.i got this college in the second round itself.
Faculty
Few faculty members are very good.but there are few that are a nightmare.they just deliver their lectures which aren't in any way going to help you in your studies.few are very thorough with what they teach
