Remarks
I got this college by AIEEE counseling 2012. You Need to fill choices according to your preference and depending on your score in entrance merit is prepared and college is allotted in four regular rounds of counseling and spot rounds. Not instead of AIEEE and JEE, JEE advance and mains are conducted. Merit is prepared based on this exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in Electrical Engineering that's why I choose this branch. I wanted to pursue B.Tech in the core branch. My class was of 102 students including a few foreigners and repeaters. The faculty was experienced. Few of them were very good and others were average. There were almost 20 teachers in our department. They were highly qualified. The semester was off almost 5 months with midterms in almost 3rd month of the semester. Exam questions were from the syllabus taught by Prof. So it was not very tough to score.
Internships Opportunities
MAQ texas instruments were among some which gave an on-campus placement. You can work under professors too. But for internships, you will have to apply off-campus. It is easy to get with some effort. Keep mailing where you want to apply. That's the only effort you need to do in most cases. You can do some projects under professors during your summer internship. It is different from your final year project for which you get a mentor allowed and is compulsory.
Placement Experience
You will start getting internship opportunities, though very less from 3rd year. However, you can try off-campus for it. PLACEMENT starts in the 4th year. Several companies come to each branch. Lots of opportunities for everyone. Even below-average students can get decent jobs. The average package for the core branch is 5.5 LPA And non-core companies offer 6-8 LPA on average however some students who get jobs in Qualcomm, Microsoft, and other companies get more than 15+lpa easily varying from company to company. Google Facebook visited too. Overall 85% of students get placed from 95% in CSE to 85-90% in ME EE AND ECE.
Fees and Financial Aid
Compared to other private institutions fees in every nit is very low. The tuition fee was almost fifty-five to sixty thousand per annum including hostel excluding mess charges at that time. However, fees have been hiked now. But it is still much low than other private institutions. It should be almost double by now. There are few opportunities for scholarships on campus. The interview was conducted for it. A few of my friends got it but it was on an economic basis so you can't hope to fill them. There were plenty of job opportunities. There were two categories of mass and non-mass recruiters. You can get one job in each category. I was placed very early. In 1st month of placement in the non-mass company at 6 LPA, so didn't apply for mass recruiters.
Campus Life
Campus life was very smooth with students from all over India and even foreigners you have plenty to share and learn. Fests were organized all year. Many technical cultural and sports fests were organized with annual day freshers and farewell parties department-wise. Aarohan tech fest is one of the biggest in eastern India.
Hostel Facilities
Some of the buildings were old and many new ones were getting constructed. The new ones were better and high class. One will have to share his room until he reaches the final year. You get a separate room for the final year. The quality of the meal depends on the hostel. Different hostel to hostel. Good in some and average in rest. LAN ports were available to every individual student. 24hrs electricity water. Common room with television with not that sufficient sports gear. Registration for a hostel is done at the time of registration for each semester. Well, there were not many Pg and hostels available in the nearby locality. However, you wouldn't need it.
