Remarks

The college gives one an round experience about the life ahead. One should not only focus on their academic growth but growth if inter-personal skills too. The college gives you amole opportunities to enhance and develop skills in you. Never miss any opportunity.

Entrance Preview

I had appeared for the AIEEE 2011 and cleared it with an AIR of 12128. I had opted for B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering because of the versatility of the trade. A professor of mine had aptly said "Mechanical Engineers are like potatoes. You can use them well in every delicacy(read Industry)".

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum included basics and advanced courses in Fluid Mechanics, Theory of Machines, Machine Design, Strength of Materials and Thermodynamics distributed over semesters as part I,II,III etc. Electives included subjects which has recent applications in industry. A few of the electives are Finite Element Methods in Engineering, Automobile Engineering, etc.

Internships Opportunities

Companies weren't too many who can.w to the campus to offer internships. Some included tata steel and acc. The ones selected are too few in number so the majority have to scavenge for the internships themselves which in itself is a prepatory lesson for the corporate life ahead. Right contacts used at the right place takes you a long way ahead.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for my batch 2011-2015 was as low as 26000 per semester with the mess fee as an additional cost running up to 2500 per month. It was a fee structure lower than any IIT or private engineering college.Infact most private engineering colleges have a semester fee 3 times than that we had to give during our tenure.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various scholarships were available. Only the top rankers were generally eligible to sit for their preliminary test so my knowledge on them is limited.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel rooms were sharing till the 3rd year. 1st year - 5 in a room2nd & 3rd year - 4 in a roomFinal year - single roomIt might sound stuffy from my description but the rooms were spacious and basic amenities were provided. The room sharing concept was a very good way to establish camaraderie among batch mates. Mess food quality gets better gradually as you get senior in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong but beneficial only if you have learnt the art of establishing and maintaining relationships with seniors and juniors alike. In the end one statement that defines your college experience is " stay hungry stay foolish".

Exam Structure

Exam structure consists of mid semester and end sem for every semester. Exams are well spaced out with gaps leaving students enough time to complete their syllabus from zero in these gaps.Labs are some of interesting part of the curriculum, the more the better.

Faculty

3

The faculty in our college ranged from experienced and highly qualified professors to young and energetic assistant professors. Qualifications are just a mark of ink on a piece of paper though. Professors on a general had a set syllabus for years for which they had developed a set routine in which they have to teach. There are a few teachers who innovate in their teaching style so try to learn from their methods as much as you can. Experienced professors are more useful in guidance towards college projects.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
