College is good for learning but if students think that the tag "nit" will give him/her everything even if they are not serious in their study then they will be in deep trouble after 4 years.
Entrance Preview
I got admitted in nit durgapur through AIEEE 2007 after having rank 784.i choose this college because it was in my home state. Moreover my college was famous for quality education at an affordable cost and finally i went for it because of the "nit" brand.
Course Curriculum Overview
The btech course comprised of 8 semesters which were to be completed in 4 years. Besides departmental subjects, there was option to choose non departmental subjects also. These elective subjects include cutting edge engineering topics like robotics, finite element analysis etc.
Internships Opportunities
I did my compulsory vocational training in dsp sail. The department organized this industrial training. But no stipend was given. If anyone wants, there is very good opportunity to do internship in the cmeri,situated just in front of the institute.
Placement Experience
Placement is very good specially in computer science and it.prominent companies like microsoft, amazon, samsung visit the campus every year and offers pay package of 12lpa(approximate). In core sectors also there are some famous companies like tata motors, tata steel, hero, maruti etc.
College Events
Aarohan: it is the annual tech fest of the college which is one of the biggest of its kind in eastern india. Reckstacy: it is the annual cultural fest of the college generally held in march.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In my time the semester fees was 12000rs for the core departments and 22000rs for computer sc, it, ece. Now these are increased by manifolds but education loan can easily be availed.

Scholarship is given to the meritorious poor students. op jindal scholarship (65 thousand rs per year) is very famous.
Campus Life
The campus life is very cool there are many opportunities for extracurricular activities. There are many clubs like "math n tech club","dance club:,"hackers club:,"lug" etc
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are really very good regular cleaning is done rooms are spacious. Mess food is of good quality and hygenic.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a strong alumni network. Alumni meet is held every year in working place the senior students help a lot. Their recommendation is highly appreciated in professional life.
Exam Structure
There is no surprise tests but exams and labs are very frequent and its mark is added so not to miss these.
Faculty
Most of the teachers are very helpful but they are very strict when it is the issue of discipline. Their recommendation helps a lot if anyone wants to pursue master degree from any foreign university.
