Remarks
Soon after the release of the results of JEE, the initial admission process was carried out through the portal of JoSAA followed by the on-campus registration process at NIT Durgapur. The minimum Marks for admission were 75 % in 12th. The admission process was smooth and well-regulated.
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses or streams were allocated on the basis of marks secured in JEE mains. Faculty here are rich in experience and have sound knowledge about the subject. Coming to examinations two examinations are conducted for each semester i.e mid-semester and Final Semester examinations. The examination is of moderate level difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are provided to students of 3rd year but major companies visiting the campus are in IT Sector. Companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs visit the campus but are open for circuital branches only. So internships in other departments are quite hard to grab on campus.
Placement Experience
7th and 8th Semester Students are eligible to sit for campus placements. Overall campus placements are decent for the college. However, the campus placement for Biotechnology is not quite good. The majority of the companies visiting the campus visit are of IT domain. So students who are interested to pursue careers even in different domains get opportunities to do so.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it is a Premier Govt Institute the fees charged are based on the income level of students. Different slabs are there for people in different income ranges. A wide range of scholarships is available for students, depending upon schemes released by the government.
Campus Life
A wide variety of clubs are available which allows students to pursue activities of their interest and hone their skills in the same. Amenities are great and classrooms of new academic buildings are well equipped.
Hostel Facilities
Only mess fees are charged and there is no provision for rented accommodation. A nominal amount of hostel fees is charged in form of establishment charges. Hostels here are quite old but still with coming batches new hostels are being built, which have all sorts of amenities to be allocated.
