Remarks

I applied to one college i.e Laxmibai College and the reason for not attending was the ranking and faculty. I choose Daulat Ram because of its best faculty and ranking. I haven't availed of any quota for admission. The admission criteria depend on the best four subjects aggregate. The percentage should match the merit list released by the college. The admission process was easy as the admin section was very helpful. Every detail of the admission process was cleared by admin and history honours Hod mam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this course because I was always interested in history and wanted to go ahead in this field only. There are 8 teachers in the faculty and the first, second and third year have at least 50 to 60 students. The faculty is highly qualified with gold medalist in History. The internals was scheduled in October and April and externals in December and June. The exams were quite difficult to pass but with great faculty, it was easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities

4

Different cells help to find internships. Different companies come and ask students to join their internships this happens with webinars and other activities. I am currently part of two internships. You can also apply for campus ambassadors positions.

Placement Experience

4

The students in the 6th semester are eligible for campus placement. I am currently in my second year so I don't have full information about placement. But there are societies like placement cells that helps students to build cv and resume for best placement offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't apply for any scholarship and currently in my second year. An increase in fees will deny education to poor students in DU. Over 60 percent of students of the university are from SC, ST, backward classes.

Campus Life

4.5

Manjari is our college annual feat and it happens in March. There are soo many books and journal in the library apart from the main subjects also. The space is also good to sit and read. Some classroom is fully air conditioned but some are not. Our college is quite small when compared to others so the classroom is a bit smaller. The classroom is equipped with smart boards also. Different colleges have different sports and one can find all the sports in all colleges almost. There are so many societies for students for activities and to discover a lot more than studies.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
