Remarks

First of all, a student has to fill an all DU registration form and have to choose the subject with which he wants to pursue his bachelors, I chose 4 subjects so that if the cutoff of 1st subject doesn't match with my best 4 percentage, I could try for the 2nd subject. After the cutoff was released, I registered myself for a particular college. I had three copies of the 10th mark sheet, the 12th mark sheet and the registration form with me. I get them verified. The admission incharge matched my percentage with that of the cutoff and the admission was done. Many seniors helped me during the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose English because it was my favourite subject and it can keep many career options open for me. The cutoff for my course was 94%. There are a total of 12 faculties in the English department and sit for 200 students total. The faculty: student ratio is 1: 12. Exams were conducted on time. There are 2-semester exams, one in the month of Nov and another in the month of May. It's not at all easy to score marks in a literature paper but if you are consistent you surely will score above 7.5 Cgpa.

Internships Opportunities

4

One can apply for internships from 1st year. There is a number of companies that provides internship opportunities. They are We grow internship programs, pre-Junction, nestle, the Jurni newspaper etc. They offer master certificates, participation certificates, and stipends based on performance. Many NGOs like we connect foundation, girls up, Sankalp, Umeed, Ritviz foundation. Internship with NGOs is recommended if you hail from a humanities course.

Placement Experience

4

Hindu just like other college has its placement cell. They invite a number of companies every year. Every year companies like Brain & Co., BCG, Deloitte, EY, Accenture and many more visits us and offers posts of development manager, finance manager and more. One can register for placement in the 3rd year and if one is good at interacting and has great convincing power, one can get selected easily. The highest salary package usually offered is 15 lakhs per annum while the lowest offered is 7 lakhs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for three years is 54,000. Hindu provides its student's hostel facility as well. The annual charge of the hospital is 80,000 approx. I couldn't get a hostel so have less information about it. College doesn't provide any scholarship on merit but it provides fee concession to the poor and physical disabled students. One could apply for the National Scholarship Portal and can avail of 15,000 per year. Apart from this, there is a number of private scholarships. For visually challenged students, there are more than 10 scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

Life at the campus is a mixture of pain, happiness, exhaustion, memories. Mecca is the Annual fest of Hindu college. Every year it is organised in the month of March. Amit Trivedi, Sukhwinder Singh, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal-Shekhar, Rekha Bharadwaj, Mohit Chauhan, Javed Akhtar - these are the star celebrities of the night. Along with it, the fest brings with itself games, music, dance and competitions. Hindu has a big sports complex, a separate basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis court and more. It has many societies. Hindu's have their own parliament and have different ministries have their sessions of debates and discussions.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
