Remarks

I applied only for one institution and that was the University of Delhi, so basically I applied for all the colleges that are a part of it. This is because I was so sure about the course in which I wanted to enroll into. DU offers one the best syllabus for Psychology across India.I scored 96.7% in 12 and the cutoff went upto 100% in 2 cllgs for the course I aspired. I wanted to assure a seat in 1st cutoff and Indraprastha College for Women(IPCW)was one of the best options that were open to me. The location&atmosphere suited me well.It has good NIRF rankings (44) and offers lots of courses. The department of psychology is one of the oldest and well-settled in DU. The procedure was so smooth,I submitted my application(by checking cutoff)and recieved a confirmation mail from College PO.The Ist cutoff for psych Hons. was 93% for OBC and 98% for GNRL of the best 4 subjects. It was completely online and much more convenient than I expected. A webinar was hosted by the DU adm branch, & all doubts were cleared before

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Psychology is a booming discipline and interests me a lot also there are many career options after master's in this course. It genuinely offers a lot to learn. This is very well delivered by IPCW and they also have a Psychology Association. We had 2 sections the year I took admission&total of approx 86 students with about 20+ amazing lovely& well-qualified faculty members. They are enormously experienced, well trained, open to any sort of changes, feedbacks, extremely inclusive & very cooperative. Most(10+)of the faculty members have a doctrate in philosophy(PHD) and some are pursuing. The method and technique of teaching is very effective and helpful even in the online mode, most of the lectures are live and there is active paticipation from both the sides.Teachers are always ready to help, may it be academics or some personal issues hindering studies of their students, they will always listen you.Student Faculty Meeting-SFC is held every sem. Many students are university toppers every year.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Several organizations such as Deloitte, KRG, GAO Tec, Teach for India, and many more hired interns from my college. A total of approx 311 internships floated throughout the year & 245 students were selected. 1st-year students across disciplines applied for the most number of internships. The highest stipend offered was RS. 20,412 per month plus housing allowance by Teach for India for their fellowship programme and Rs. 20k per month by Houseitt. These companies offered intership opportunities in diverse profiles like Finance and investment management, equity research, web development, quality analyst, HR, sales & marketing, content writing, and a lot more. ( source; JEET report 2020-21, placement cell of IPCW). For Further clarifications, u can definitely visit the college portal because this is surely not all. The college is overall absolutely amazing. Very healthy and positive atmosphere all across.

Placement Experience

4.5

For Psychology, there are very fewer placements just after bachelor's but after master's, they are so much. The college offers a large number of UG and PG programs. But for arts, mathematical science, and commerce courses there are placements after bachelors offered by several companies like Vedanta ltd., Decathlon, EY, etc. There are 52+ visiting companies and 100+ letters are offered. The highest package was 18LPA by DE Shaw India PVT. LTD. I plan to do some internships which will help me to be sure about my master's specialization and pursue PG in Psychology that would help me get better placement and insights into the subject.

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission cost for my course (including the 1st year fee) i.e., B.A Hons. Psychology was around 32k, which is a little more than the other colleges of DU but I must say it is worth it. You can find detailed descriptions of fee structure, scholarships, and prizes on the college website. They have air-conditioned Psychology Labs & a very well-equipped library. Mine is a 3-year degree course, so it costs me a total of 81k approximately. There is an internship cell (JEET) , very hard working and helpful which keeps us alert about internship opportunities for the whole college and all departments on campus. Some of the offered internships are with a stipend and also placements opportunities are very good. The highest package for psychology for last year was 6 lakh per annum and the average was 3 lacs per annum. The college offers scholarships and prizes on the basis of academic and overall performance, both at the college and department level. For ex- lala jugal kishore jagdish prasad memorial prize.

Campus Life

4.5

IPCW has one of the finest infrastructure, a lively campus, & an eco-friendly campus. It has 10+ academic and cultural socities, a discussion forum,eco-club, NSS and NCC, etc. Student services include a vigorous diversity integration program and an equal opportunity cell. A pandemic couldn't restrict annual celebrations of manovriti(psych department annual fest) every year in Feb. Webinars on different topics are held often.Socities are run by student-faculty cooperation, open to all. There are big classrooms with a large sitting capacity. This is the only college of DU which have a swimming pool and offers swimming classes for all except SRCC. There are many sports facilities like a Tennis court, Badminton court, Gym, etc. Psych depart. also have a movie club and discussions are held from time to time. There is career guidance and placement cell mentored by highly efficient faculty. It has a spacious library with a Pwd lift access, which has a computerized system, and e-resources are also available.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
