Remarks
I applied for admission in Hindu College with BA (Hons.) Economics as my course. The first and second cutoffs for admission in Economics were a bit high but third cutoff (which was 98%) seemed attainable. The admission process, which was entirely online, was smooth. After having registered at the Delhi Universal portal for admission, all that had to be done was submit proofs of identification and a few declarations, and then the fees. So the process was hassle-free. Due credit must be given to Delhi University for developing an error-free admission portal. College experience so far has been good, even though it has been online. Teachers have an understanding nature and try to make the online-teaching atmosphere as stress-free as possible by not burdening us with assignments and projects.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Economics since I have had an inclination towards the subject since Grade 11th. The entire batch is a strength of around 133 people, divided into 2 sections, so around 60 students per section. Each section has 5-6 teachers assigned to it. The professors seem well-qualified for the subject and students have had no problem with the way they teach so far. Term exams weren't very stressful and enough arrangements were made for their smooth facilitation.
Internships Opportunities
The Internship Cell at our college bridges the gap between students and internship opportitues. The Cell hosts various companies with diverse job profiles and offers a mix of paid and unpaid internships. These internships give students an exposure of the professional world and work ethics needed when you step out of college into the real world.
Placement Experience
Placement Cell of our college bridges the gap between students and placement opportunities. The Cell hosts recruiters like Bain and Co, DE Shaw, Boston Consulting Group, Accenture among many other names. The average package is valued at Rs. 7.46 LPA and the Gross Package Value amounted to 5 crores (approx).
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is basic and is adjusted according to the student's financial faculties. Apart from that, the college also provides financial assistance to those students who need it. There are also various scholarships offered by our college. The internship cell and placement cell are well-structured bodies that bridge the gap between students and job opportunities while preparing them for the job arena.
Campus Life
I haven't had a chance to experience campus life since college has been online so far, but from what I've heard, college culture is pretty lively, buzzing with multiple fests, societies, and activities. There are a plethora of cultural and academic societies run by students.
