Remarks
Based on my jee ranks I got this college in my CSAB round before this I got various colleges in my Josaa Round which are NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurushetra and IIIT Guwahati but I choose this because branch wise and college wise this college is the best option among these. My Jee main percentile is 97.19. I opt for B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. I availed OBC-NCL quota in my counselling. The admission criteria are smoother if you follow the guidelines of Jossa. In my case, my medical certificate was not correct so I got the notice from the college authority on my Jossa portal. So, be careful during uploading the documents and check their verification before uploading. After document verification rest formalities were executed in the college admission form.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I already gained a brief knowledge of this course before filling it in the choice list during the counselling process. I found the subjects quite interesting & so I applied for this course. All the faculty members are very good and much helpful. The faculty: student ratio is nearly 3:11. The faculty members of course are highly qualified and some of them are also researchers. Each professor has their own teaching process not only in this institute but also each & everywhere, hence that cannot be compared. The most important thing is that most of them make the quite interesting and thus it becomes easier to understand. After 5 months there are semester exams which include two continuous assessment tests of 15 & 25 marks respectively. The passing marks are quite low and it is not at all difficult to achieve the passing marks even if one starts his/her preparation just one month before the semester exam.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of companies like Microsoft, Capgemini, TATA Steel, NITI ayog, and others that offer internships through the summer-winter internship programs. Besides, students can avail internships through external sites also like Internshala and LinkedIn.
Placement Experience
From the seventh semester, students become eligible for placements. TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Google India, and many other companies, a total of 116 approximately as per last year, visit the college, and about 460 students were offered placements. About 82% of students got placed last year. After my graduation, I'd opt for either IT sector jobs or go for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
No scholarships are given by the college but the college provides fee waivers to the students. In NIT Durgapur, a Btech program will cost about 8lakhs in 4 years. For sc-st candidates, the tuition fee is totally waived while the fees of general and obc candidates are determined by their family income.
Campus Life
Owing to online classes, I've not experienced campus life. The college provides e-resource for college students. The professor provides the best materials and teaches us through the virtual classrooms on MS Teams or Google meet. The seniors are cooperative and provide insights into college life. On-campus, there are various spots to see like Duck point, Nescafe Point, SAC, and other buildings. There are various clubs and societies with very much exciting and cooperative communities of students like CCA, SAE, GNU/LINUX, MNTC, LC, etc
