NIT Durgapur Review

CSE is in B.Tech is the flagship course of NIT Durgapur. I also wanted to be part of NIT Durgapur because the college is very popular for its CSE program as there are very less colleges in India that provide CSE as a flagship course. The placement for CSE students in NIT Durgapur is very good, NIT Durgapur is the first college in Eastern India to be chosen as the Lead Institute under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) of the Government of India funded by the world bank. I have to work very hard in my academics and for JEE for a good rank so that I can choose the college according to my preference and can meet the cutoff list of NIT Durgapur. I was able to meet the cutoff list of the college that is between 553 to 657 and was able to secure 75% marks in 10+2.

The curriculum is according to the international industrial norms and standards. The curriculum of the program is designed to understand the functionality of machine learning and the importance and impact of the changing technology in the modern world and on the human mind. The college gives us ample opportunity for research work. If we want to take part in any kind of research the faculty and administrative staff fully cooperates with us.

We are eligible for the internship after completing the 3rd year of our program. One of the plus points is that the college also provides us with international opportunities for internships. The college placement committee is very supportive and cooperative they properly guide us and help us to choose the companies for internship. The stipend usually ranges from Rs. 25000/- to Rs. 2,50,000/-.

The college placement record is very good. The college provides good placement for the CSE program. The college placement committee is very professional and every member of the committee properly guides us during the placement round and they make sure that each and every participating student is placed. The highest package for our batch went up to 29 LPA and the average package was around 9.50 LPA. companies like Wipro, TCS, IBM, Amazon, Axis Bank, Microsoft, Capgemini, Bajaj Auto, Larsen & Toubro, Cognizant, etc visited our campus for the placement drive.

The college provides scholarships on a merit basis under the 'merit cum means scholarship program. Scholarship for Sc/ST/PWD is also available. The college seniors are friendly. The campus life of the college is very fun and the college provides us with a good environment for studies. Rectacssy is the college cultural annual fest which is the 2nd largest fest in East India. The college classrooms are spacious and very well maintained. The college library is equipped with lots of books and international research journals are also available in the library. The college also has an NCC club students can participate in NC camps for different kinds of activities. The college infrastructure is well maintained.

The hostel rooms are well maintained and big and properly ventilated. The rooms are cleaned 4 times a week. The wardens and the staff members of the hostel are very cooperative and friendly. The hostel mess food is good and the menu is full of different kinds of variety. We are served special food during the festival season. The hostel also provides a high-speed WiFi connectivity service. The hostel provides us with all kinds of basic facilities.

The faculty of the college is very diverse and almost 95% of faculty members are of PhD level with research experience from top-notch universities of India and abroad and few of the faculty members also have corporate experience. The college faculty is highly professional and experts in their respective subjects.
