THIS IS THE 2ND BEST COLLEGE AFTER IIT KGP IN WEST BENGAL.

I gave the jee mains exam and my rank was 25575(general rank).I got the mechanical branch till my 8th allotement in csab although the cutoff was around 31000 for mechanical branch.After you got your jee mains result you have to look at the nta site for your admission procedure where the dates of jossa couselling will be published.You have to fill the choices of colleges according to your jee mains and advance rank .If you haven't given the advance exam or fail to get the passing marks your choices for iit will be not shown at the jossa registration interface.So now according to your rank and interest you fill the choices of your college and courses keeping in my mind to recheck your choices before you lock the choices.You don't have to pay any fees intially but after you get your 1st seat after the seat allotment result you have to pay 25000 to book your seat and further paying 40,000 as partial fees at last round of jossa or csab.The nta site is not punctual .

I knew that the mechanical department of nit durgapur is very good .So i wanted to get that branch even my 1st priority was computer sci. Yes,we have lots of faculty members of every department very knowledgeable and qualified from premium colleges of india.The curriculum of nit is still not fully updated compared to foreign top colleges.Few of the teachers are friendly and have a good teaching style but few are very rude and don't have good teaching skills,some teachers are just in a hurry to finish the syllabus somehow. I am in 1st year our each semester consists of 3 phases ca1,ca2 and end term.you will get a ample of time beforre final term the marks are distributed in the ratio of 15:25:60,pass marks is 35.For practical,exam is conducted through viva and laboratory sessionals exams weightage is evaluator specific and pass marks is 50.

Most of the internship are availabe for cse and ece students where the percentage of getting internship is 80%.For mech and ee students only 20-30% get intership so you have to apply for your internship off campus ,for chemical its around 20% and for other branches is hardly more than 10% from our college.

The placement of our college is pretty good this year .Till 7th semester more than 70% are placed with an average package of 11.46 lacs and more than 500 student are placed.About 13-14% have opted for higher education .Well from this year onwards a new placement policy is created where you can sit for companies of 12.5 lacs ctc or psu if your department placement is more than 75%.Till now cse placement is 95%,ece 85% ,ee 80% mechanical and chemical is 75% ,metallurgy and civil is more than 50% and biotehnology is 35%..This year highest placement is 46 lacs grabbed by19 students .About 11% students in college got more than 20+ CTC and 15% 10-15 LPA CTC.They were total 570 offers made this year until now.

The fees for nits iits are very high compared to government medical colleges.The total fees for studying in 4 years is 6.38 lacs and in total considering the mess food and extra curriculum activities in college its around 8 lacs package at the end.There are several scholarships like vivekanada scholarship for bengal students and several other scholarships schemes atleast once for every state based on your family income,but if you can show an ITR of your parents of less than 5 lacs you can avail 66% scholarship and if you show an income of less than 1 lacs you will get 100% scholarship during admission.Also you will easily get an education loan .

The infrastructure of nit durgapur is very good it is around 187 acres.There are total 14 halls for both boys and girls .There is also a junction and big bazar where you can enjoy with your friends .We have a gym and unlimited wifi at the campus ,you wiill be getting a basic healthcare facility very popular among students.There are 20 clubs of tech,robocell,coding ,quiz and riddles contest and many more.There is a central library of journals books of many exam s and engineering of more than 10 lacs books in total,there is a caferteria too and 2 saloon also.

For 1st years students you will be alloted in hall 11 ,the new one and you will have to share it with 2 others. From 2nd year onwards you will be getting a roommate of your similar branch and in final year you will be getting a single room.The library and hostels are open 24 hours so you will not face any problem in your academics.The hostels charges are 4000 per semester and 3000 for electricty ,water and maintainence chrages per semester.The hostels are compulsory .The quality of mess mood is mediocre well you have to purchase atleast 20 coupons every mont,menu is decided by students ,food varieties are available for both veg and non veg.
