Remarks
I'm studying mechanical engineering in nit Durgapur, the eligibility criteria for this course is to qualify to jee mains exam which was conducted by the central government. The exam was conducted once in a year if we won't join in nit it is mandatory to crack the exam. The college provides reservation benefits to the candidates who are having sc, St and EWS certificate holders. The admission process was good but getting a seat for general candidates is tough.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm really interested in mechanical engineering so opted for this branch as my career. The faculty in our college is well qualified and most of them are Ph.D. holders. The teaching was top-notch not having any problem with it. The exams are conducted twice in the year a semester basis. The exam was easily passed if we study well. Coming to the difficulty of the exams it was moderate not that much difficult.
Internships Opportunities
So many companies offered an internship to students with a stipend. For getting an internship in the college we need to apply to the internship at the specific portal. Once they are accepted college will send a mail to the company and provides internship to the students. The stipend is different for different companies. In the third year mini project is there and the internship was very helpful for the successful completion of the project.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for campus placements in the 3rd year itself. Companies like Infosys, Accenture, TCS, Microsoft, etc. are come to our college and offer placements to the students studying in nit Durgapur. The highest package for the mechanical engineering branch is 9 LPA in the year 2021. Nearly 60% of students are placed in college and the rest are placed after the college degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for studying in nit Durgapur is 12000 rupees per semester. The fees hike for the college is done once in a decade. For reservation candidates, the seat allotment is free, and need to pay the minimum allowance. Different scholarship programs were there in the college. Students need to apply for the scholarship program, once you are eligible you will get a scholarship based on the scheme.
Campus Life
Every year annual fests are conducted students participate every year and also tech fests are conducted twice in a year. The library is pretty big we will get each and every book in the library required for the academics, not only in academics gate examination books are also there. There is much more sports equipment in the college. Not only in studies nit Durgapur prefers sports also. Many students selected from national in the college
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility in the college is good. Every room there are three numbers and has three beds for each. The combined bathroom facility is there for the students, The meal quality is not up to mark improvement is necessary in the meal quality. Coming to the menu it was good, The registration process for the hostel is easy a simple application is needed to be filled first and then payment of 20000 should be done. No person is allowed to stay outside the hostel.
