There is no concept of companies coming for internship in the general sense. Microsoft came at our time and took around people thats it as per my experience, one has to rely on himself to get the internship but with the brand name Of NIT and the startup surge one should not have difficulty in finding one i personally got a superb internship in University of Sains, Malaysia. The college has a tie up with German universities through DAAD and the toppers after rigorous interviews get the chance to make it students have visited CERN through these programs.

Placements in CS,IT and EC are superb almost everyone gets a decent enough job to start off as of today, all the software biggies visit our college. Microsoft, Amazon, DE Shaw, Direct I to name some in 2013 even Facebook visited but unfortunately nobody could make it.

As of 2013 it was a reasonable 21000 per semester but now has increased to 40000 most of it is the tuition fee.Other components included are Library, internet, room cleaning and other infrastructural services mess fees is not part of this and it would cost around another 2000 per mionth.

This is best part campus life is the most awesome in NIT Durgapur. The academic pressure used to be very less and thus one has the liberty in terms of time to explore life like anything internet is awesome in our college. Behind the hostel GATEs you have the liberty to do almost anything and nobody gives a damn.

In first, second and third year one had to share rooms with three other guys.(4 in one room) in the final year only one will have the luxury to get a single room though, rooms are officially allotted by the administration but people usually live in cluste

Alumni network is weak as compared to other top notch colleges but seniors with just 2 4 years gap with whom can be of real help with internships and jobs employee referral gets a huge number of employees for any organization and its relatively easier to crack a referral based interview with seniors all over the place, it will not be difficult managing an interview in any of the big companies.
