Remarks

The administration facility not so good, being a reputed govt. college i think they have to be improve and active. Like when i got my name in the merit list and we went to faculty for admissions as on the website there was written the date and time for admission but when i went to the department they are saying we don't know when the admission will be start. No one's knows about the exact schedule when the admission will be start nobody answers for study materials etc. I think there must be an spokesperson who provide information about admission, Syllabus, Prescribed colleges, Hostels, study material and examination dates.

Entrance Preview

I gave practical test in music faculty and got selected on 1st merit. I thought if i couldn't select in merit then i will go for BA Programme in fine arts. when i got my name in the merit, i went out to music faculty and they gave me hindu college, and i proceed as per the instructions.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Bachelor degree in music is very creative and interested subject to study and focus for those who are really interested in music (Vocal/Instrumental). I was classically trained by Ustad Rashid Ali Khan sir, that's why i am so close to music, When i started i got a lot of things to learn, research on raga's and many more things.

Internships Opportunities

The following companies have been coming to campus to offer internships:Outlook India, Happily Unmarried, Design Karkhana, Philip Morris International, Indiabulls, Teach For India,Make A Difference, Empower India ,Youth Alliance, Thilio, FudFill etc. the stipend is basically in range of 5k to 20k.

College Events

4

There are a lot of events are held in Hindu college. The annual festival ‘Mecca’ is the most sought after at Delhi University. It is one of the best and largest festivals at DU. Popular Pop-music bands like Jal and Euphoria have performed at the college. Mecca is a 4-day long festival held in the month of January / February. Bollywood director, Imtiaz Ali (alumni) was the co-founder of IBTIDA – which is one of the most vibrant societies of the college, and they perform street plays. The college basketball team is the best at DU. Another thing unique to Hindu College, is the College Parliament which organises Mecca, other events, and various administrative work also.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very feasible. It is taken under consideration that every child , regardless of the background can take admission in the colleges of DU , as these are government colleges. The per year fee of most of the colleges is even less than what the students are paying per month for accommodation. Total 43,000 INR (1st year INR 15,670 2nd year INR 13,665 3rd Year INR 13,665)

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan or financial aid is given to students no information shared by management for the same i was eligible for scholarship but it was not given i think this is not worth to get good marks.

Campus Life

3

Our college's campus life is amazing and most importantly awesome. We all students live equally and there is no term such as ragging in our college. We friends hang out in college campus even after the college is over and enjoy our college life. With an exhilarating environment. gender ratio : 20-10 (each 30 consist of 20 men and 10 girls) There is no discrimination based on race or religion or gender. College is very much neutral on this front. Exhibition are held for social awareness. They are good and they are also planning to add more events on this aspect. social activity like blood donation here workshop and seminars are attending related by computer engineering and other any subject. here are various religion student.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel room are available in a sharing. They are allotted departmentally. food of the mess are really fresh and healthy. they take a sum of approximately ?50000 for the living and mess both. The fee is not fixed but depends on ur eating quantity. the room is shared with senior junior of any department

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, They are very helpful, Once i was so scare about my subjects notes, and somethings are always fed up with me then i asked one of my senior gaurav and he helped me alot.

Exam Structure

66% attendance required as a compulsory university norm to be eligible to appear for the exams. You secure full 5 marks set aside for attendance if you attend 85% or more. Students with genuine reasons to not have been able to attend can produce documents for the same, so it’s flexible on that ground. Students working for the various societies of the college or the ones busy with sports tournaments are considered for less attendance.

Admission

For admission to the undergraduate programs in Hindu College, candidates must have scored above the cut-off percentage in the qualifying examination. Candidates falling in the merit list should report to the college for admission. They must fill in the college admission form and University enrolment form. Candidates may also have to submit the necessary academic documents and the proofs of claim to secure admission under reserved quota. Candidates should complete their 10+2 in the relevant stream to be considered eligible. The cutoff percentage for the program is determined either by the university or the college. For SC/ST candidates, there is a 5% relaxation in the minimum required eligibility. Hindu College follows the reservation criteria of DU for all its programs.

Faculty

4

Faculty is very good especially for music-related courses. Also some of the masters courses were started off in Hinduja so that’s a remarkable thing. They are friendly and helpful and very easy to communicate with. A lot of guest faculty lectures in every branch take place regularly giving students a taste of the real world. BA music is the most scarred course till now with a bad co-ordinator and a very mediocre faculty. Hinduja is one of the good college for music, science and commerce so the crowd seems to be nerdy and un-participative. The trend of festivals has just started to set in and probably we can expect a better crowd.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
