Course Curriculum Overview

4

The BA Program Department of Indraprastha College compared to other Delhi University colleges is relatively very good. I choose this course because I have two options to do a master's I am doing a bachelor's in Political science and Economics, and now I have two choices either to do a master's in economics or political science. If you are a UPSC aspirant. This course is the best. The placement cell of our college always comes up with good internships even for the BA Program students. The faculties are nice but not all of them. There is a need to bring even more good faculties. Faculties are postgraduates and obviously cleared Net Jrfs, some faculties are researchers, and some are even doing Ph.D. The class strength is 50-last year's qu60. There are six semesters. The course is for three years. So, every year two semesters are held at the interval of six months. It is not very difficult, I would say. The paper is moderate. Just take a review of the lestion papers.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

It provides various internship opportunities various companies have come to our colleges like D.W Shaw company which offered the Job of tech associate. The FinOak company, a finance guiding platform also comes with internships that provide the profile of financial literacy fellowship. It gave certificates and letters of recommendation. Again, an internship with 1HR solutions, a consultancy providing staffing and training, and end-to-end recruitment. It is a forward-thinking company that provides HRs. It offered the post of HRs and the stipend was 15k per month for three continuous months. ConsultBAE also approached the College which offered the profile of the HR recruiter team which will give letters of recommendation, internship certificates, and many more. Many NGOs like Arise Impact and other organizations also approach which provides free education to blind students for the Railways exam. So, you can make your CV attractive by working in NGOs as well.

Placement Experience

4

JEET is the placement cell of my college. It brings job opportunities from good companies like Infosys, Deloitte, etc. A student after the fourth semester is eligible for campus placements. Before that, they get a stipend in the internships which varies from 5k to 15k. The companies which come to my college offer 4 lakhs to 12 lakhs per annum. Sometimes, it can be 25 lakhs too. The procedures to get into the selection of companies are difficult. The college has its own brochure to make a CV and one should be an active member of the placement cell they should attend all the webinars and seminars to be eligible for the company selection. I'm planning to do a master's in economics from any of the colleges of Delhi University which is on the north campus. The target is Stephen's College. And for that, I have to give the entrance exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of this college are highly considered to other Delhi Universities. It is 18,000 per year. It might vary by 4-5k. So approximately, it is around 60,000rs. The fee hike isn't very high or abrupt. It takes time and the hike is low. College does offer scholarships on the basis of the income of the student's family And also on the basis of the CGPA they scored in the semester. The college gives more than 40% of scholarships to 300 students from the college every year. Even Delhi University also gives overall scholarships to students. There is a different form for that. The college provides various internship opportunities. The stipend varies from 6k - 20k. They offer internships in the first two years of graduation and in the last year, they offer Jobs that vary from 4 lakhs to 12 lakhs per annum.

Campus Life

4.5

If you are in any college of Delhi University which is on the north campus, you are living, competing, and activities your college life at its best. The annual fest of Indraprastha College for Wo, Delhi University is named as SHRUTI. It is conducted in the month of March every year. The fest is on two days. Various quizzes and gas are held. The students from other colleges can also participate and earn good prizes and certificates. The infrastructure of my college is fully furnished with all the facilities whether it's the benches or the technologies. It is one of the most beautiful colleges. Many students also come through sports quota, if they are good players in any specific sports. You can participate in inter-college. There is NSS as well. But NCC is not there. There are around more than 20 societies like women development cell society, the Mridang society for Indian classical dance, Afroza for Western dance, the debating society, and a lot more. The library is big but you won't find all the books.

Admission

I got admission in the year 2020. At that time, there were two criteria to get admission to the colleges of Delhi University - merit-based and entrance based. They used to reserve seats accordingly. If someone doesn't score well in the 12th class, they can go for the entrance exam. I got into the college merit-based as I scored 94 but now there are no such criteria merit-based, everyone will get Delhi University colleges in entrance based, and the exam is CUET. The application forms come out in the month of February, the exam is conducted around May. The cost of the form is 550-650, various on the categories for SCs and STs, it is 550rs and for general, it is 650rs. The application form is available on the Cuet UG website. They release 6-7 cut-offs on the basis of the availability of seats. Some of the colleges take more time in verifying the documents during admission, so I think they should look into it most of the time, there are transaction issues. So, they should improve the server.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
