Remarks

College infrastructure and academic and institute rules still needs to be greatly improved ,having some bad cases over the years in our college Medical unit fault was there for the death of a final year student, for which director of college had to resign. My overall experience was satisfactory..in the first year it was quite nice meeting with the seniors sometimes, getting introduced about different clubs in the college.Academics was all right in our college specially in our mechanical branch with some of distinguished faculties.mess food was neither good nor bad,so it was not a bad experience overall.the hostel rooms was somewhat OK,having LAN connection throughout..the partners were nice there, college was equipped with a central library, two large play grounds,a computer center ,a gymnasium,,annual techno fests used to be there, overall it was a fair experience in college life

Entrance Preview

I took jee mains examination to enter NIT Durgapur,my AIR was 45644 in 2013,board marks counted for 40 percent and jee marks for 60 percent, qualifying the exam I landed up in the college There was no interview process followed I was greatly enthusiastic with automobiles and also core sector government jobs related with my field which made me to take the mechanical engineering course

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It was a good decision to take mechanical engineering which is basically the father branch. It deals with aspects such as automobiles ,machinery and parts, metals and materials ,and production of items,it was quite fit and suited to my ability for pursuing the course I would say it was mean approach towards learning practical aspects ,it was also average compared to other institutes Research initiatives are taken up in various sectors, fields and branches Elective options were there to be chosen in every branch such as trilogy ,automobile engineering, numerical methods, mechatronics, fluid power in our branch

Internships Opportunities

The college campus provided an interview with CERN ,Geneva with some academically extraordinary students getting selected for the internship Average stipend was about rupees 5000 per month

Placement Experience

3.5

Placement was quite good for our batch There was nice placement of about 68 percent Major recruiters were Infosys, Tata motors,Volvo,Amazon, Reliance defence,BPCl,Hpcl, etc Average package was about 6.5 to 7 lax p.a

College Events

3.5

Aarohan was the techno Management annual fest in our college.Recstacy was the annual cultural fest, they were quite big Average football was good The college authorities contributed in well amounts for the same

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees was well affordable for 2017 pass out batch,it was about 24500 per semester for us..for the following years the figures exceeded to about 65000 per semester

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships was mainly merit cum means based I didn't avail any form of scholarships College had an SBI branch to help the students get loans for those who were needy

Campus Life

3.5

College was well participating in extracurricular event I used to get engaged in robotics clubs to show my technical skills ,clubs like maths n tech club,Gnu Linux club were quite popular in our college There were good facilities in participating for events organised by the students in each club and college also fully supported for the same

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels for the first years and the foreigners were new and had nice infrastructure for the second and third years ,it was old hostels with manageable room size . For ist, second and third years it was about 3 to 4 partners sharing rooms ,for final year students there was single room allotment. They did not have PGs mess or hostel charge was around 3000 rupees per month Food was average.

Alumni/Alumna

There was an average interaction with alumni College didn't provide that much platform for such interaction ,it was like once for a short time in four years time Alumni contributed in good amounts for development of college as well as students

Exam Structure

Sometimes they used to making us feel disturbed and uneasy going it is common to all engineering students ,the lab classes were generally two to three hours per week which made us feel tired, the midterm exams were taken easily by us after the semester exams got over it was all easy going and time to have fun moreover it was a chill culture in college

Faculty

3

Faculty members in our m.tech branch were high experienced , distinguished. They were not so interactive ,but still tried best to make the students reach to the concepts

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
