Course Curriculum Overview
The mechanical engineering course at NIT Durgapur is quite a good choice. The faculties here are highly qualified. The faculty-student interaction is supportive here, the faculties are enthusiastic and well cooperative. The teaching method of the faculties is also quite remarkable. Three exams are conducted each semester- Continuous Assessment 1, Mid-term examination, and End term examination. They are not very difficult to pass if you are determined and pay attention in class.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies visit our college for internship opportunities. Software companies like Microsoft, BNY Mellon, Wells Fargo etc. and Core companies like Bajaj, John Deere, Tata etc. visit our college. Each company offers a good amount of stipend ranging from 20,000 per month to 80,000 per month.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible to sit for internship opportunities after the 5th semester. And after the 7th semester for campus placements. Various MNCs and industrial companies visit this college for recruitment, and each company hires a good number of students. The highest package offered yet is 56 LPA and the average package offered is 14.28 LPA. Almost more than 80% students get placed in every branch.

The fees of this college are quite affordable considering the value of this college. The course fee is around 2 lakhs per year. Campus Life
Here in this college techno-management fest called AAROHAN and a cultural fest known as RECSTACY are conducted every year. The library here is well-maintained and has a considerable amount of collection of books. The classrooms are well-furnished, and equipped with ACs and smart boards. There are two playgrounds here, a basketball court, and a badminton court. Every hostel has also a playground, badminton court, etc. Various clubs are there in this college to help make your college life interesting and pursue your passion.
Admission
For admission into NITs, you have to apply for JEE Mains exam through the NTA exam portal. After the exam, your all-India rank will be published and then you have to go through the counseling process conducted by JoSAA. You have to fill in your preferences according to your college and branch preferences. You have to get around 30,000 all India rank in JEE mains to get the B.
