Course Curriculum Overview
The mechanical branch is good here at NIT Durgapur. The professors are well trained and their teaching style is also very good. They are highly qualified and have immense knowledge. A lot of research was also conducted here. The semester exams are not that difficult to pass. It consists of 100 marks in total.
Internships Opportunities
For internships, many companies visit for various roles. SDE, Analysts, and Core engineers are hired from this campus. The average stipend ranges around 25-30k per month, depending on the role. The internships are arranged by the Career Development Center of our college.
Placement Experience
Placement season starts from the 7th semester onwards. A lot of companies visit here for recruitment for various roles for IT and core positions. IT companies like Amazon, Cisco, Salesforce, etc. visit, and core companies like Texas Instruments, Tata, etc. visit here. The highest package offered last year was 50+ LPA and the average package ranges around 13-14 LPA. Maximum students get placed from all branches.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees remain almost the same there is very less or no hike. The course fee is 14000 per semester. Under the OBC category, the fees are less here. And you can avail of study loans from banks here. The rate of interest on study loans is quite low and affordable.
Campus Life
There are two annual fests conducted every year one is AAROHAN and the other one is RECSTACY. Aarohan is a technical fest and Recstacy is a cultural fest. There is a central library here with lots of collection of books. The classrooms are equipped with ACs and smart boards with projectors. Sports facilities are also quite good here. There are football grounds, basketball courts, badminton courts, etc. Clubs and societies are highly active here, they conduct various technical and cultural activities around the year.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel here is well maintained. The rooms are spacious and well-ventilated. The meal quality in the mess is very good. The affordability of hostels is good as fees per semester are less. All students are provided hostel accommodation
Admission
You have to appear Jee Mains examination conducted every year to be eligible for admission to this college. The application form is released every year online. Under the OBC category, you have to secure around 35000 to be eligible for this course.
