Course Curriculum Overview
I got Biotechnology due to my rank. The faculty-to-student ratio is good here. The faculties are well qualified as most of them are from NITS, Iits, and IITS. They teach on blackboard only, few of them use projectors. There is one mid-term exam and one-semester exam each semester.
Internships Opportunities
The students are available for internship from the 5th semester. Although the students can do projects/internships from the college itself under the professors. The CDC is active here and helpful in assisting students to get an internship in the third year.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible for placement from the 6th semester as the companies start coming in August. Microsoft, ADOBE, QUALCOMM, and various core companies like L&T, Tata Motors, reliance, etc. offer placement here. 13.64 lpa is the average package and 70 lpa is the highest package here. Overall 85% of students got placed. I want to pursue research after b.tech.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee for general students is 78800 per semester. Although waiver on fees are applicable according to caste and income criteria. The college periodically informs about various scholarships that are available.
Campus Life
Recstacy, is the annual cultural fest here held in April. Aarohan is the technical fest held in March. Recrave is held in November. The institute has its own central Library which contains a large number of books and journals of various authors. The classrooms are large and are well-equipped with ACs projectors and sound systems. Sac has all kinds of sports facilities with a gym and both indoor and outdoor games. The club culture is very active in Nit Durgapur as it has over 20 clubs.
Hostel Facilities
There are 14 halls in NIT Durgapur, the rooms are all 3 sharing for all 4 years. The rooms have one cot, almirah, and a table chair. 24*7 wifi network is provided. The mess food is average as it varies from hall to hall. The registration process is held after the verification process every year.
Admission
One must sit for Jee mains to get admission into NIT Durgapur. The application form is found in nta.jeemain.ac.in. The application form will be released in December. The reservation criteria are according to the Central reservation system.
