The course eligibility is that you have to appear for jee mains exam. The application form is available online. It is conducted twice a year. The application fees is around Rs 650. You can avail reservation benefits based on your category.
Course Curriculum Overview
The department of metallurgical and materials in NIT Durgapur has good research scope and faculties are also enthusiastic. The faculty student ratio is good. Their teaching method is also advanced. The exams are conducted every semester in three parts of total 100 marks.
Internships Opportunities
Companies such as Cisco, Salesforce, PwC, Wells Fargo, JPMC, Bajaj Auto, etc visit for different openings during internship season. The stipend offered depends on company and role of intern. The stipend is be around 50-60 k in average.
Placement Experience
Placement season starts from final year. Companies such as Microsoft, Texas instruments, Cisco, Amazon, Wells Fargo and many top companies visit here for placement. Average package is around 15 LPA and 85-90% students are placed from every branch.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is almost fixed and does not vary. The fees per semester is around 76.5k. You can avail scholarship on merit and income basis. Also state government provides scholarship benefits to well performing students.
Campus Life
Annual tech fest is AAROHAN and annual cultural fest is RECSTACY. They are conducted in February and March respectively. The classroom facilities are appreciable with air conditioned rooms and smart boards. Many clubs and societies are there in the campus.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel rooms are alloted on 3 sharing basis. Each year is alloted different hostel and rooms are spacious too. The meal quality is good also canteens are available in the campus. Hostel fees is Rs 19000 per semester.
