- Lab and workshops biuldings are older and the euipments also can be considered for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview
I am a student in the Chemical Engineering B.Tech program at NIT Durgapur. As it is a core subject it is a little more harder and hectic than other non-core branches. The curriculum goes through classes, assignments, various labs and workshops. All faculty members and highly qualified and very supportive inside and outside of the classroom. Each semester consists of at least two examinations which are mid-term and end-term and the difficulty level depends on the faculty member.
Internships Opportunities
Students from the non-core branch find a very decent internship opportunity. Many companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan, Wells Fargo, Flipkart etc offer on-campus internship opportunities. Students from core branches have a very limited opportunity for internships which do come directly on campus.
Placement Experience
NIT Durgapur provides campus placement opportunities to every eligible student through the CDC(Career Development Centre) of NIT Durgapur. Internship opportunities are provided from the 5th semester and placement season starts from the 7th semester. The overall placement percentage is above 85 percent and avg ctc is above 11lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of the B.Tech program varies annually which is easily accessible from the institute website. A fee waiver is provided according to the category of a student. There is not any direct scholarship opportunity from college. SBI branch is available is college campuses from where financial assistance can be obtained easily.
Campus Life
NIT Durgapur provides a vibrant campus life. There are many clubs and groups run by students. Many technical, non-technical fests and events are organised by these clubs annually named Aarohan, Recstacy and etc. Clubs of various domains are established in the college like CCA, MNTC, SAE, Recursion, Darpan(official Hindi club) etc. Central Library consist of lakhs of books from various fields and the college also provides very good sports facilities.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is compulsory in NIT Durgapur for every student. Hostel facilities are quite good in this college. First-year students are provided triple occupancy rooms and beds, chairs, study tables, Almira and fans are equipment an the room. Mess food of every hostel is decent.
Admission
The admission process consists of first appearing in the Joint Entrance Exam(JEE Mains) and then based on your all-India rank you have to participate in the JoSSA councelling process and according to choice filling, the college will be allotted. There is a reservation based on an individual's category.
