The story of a NITIAN

I was deeply interested in computers like how they function and how they operate due to which I chose this department (computer science). The faculty here in this institute is one of the best in India. They are highly trained and well qualified (They are Google scholars they had done their phd from very renowned institutes like the IIT and NIT)they teach us in a way that every topic feel interesting they take theory + lab classes to make sure we practice what is taught in the class. The exams are conducted twice in the semester and the exams aren't that hard to pass even if you have studied and paid attention in class you will surely score well.

Internship options are given in the college as several renowned companies come to this college for internship opportunities some of them are 1. Microsoft (1,25 lakhs) 2. Jp Morgan (70 thousand) 3. Texas Instruments (75 thousand) 4. Samsung (50 thousand) 5. Jhon deere (around 40 thousand) And many more The company interviews and conduct coding rounds and other aptitude test for giving internship opportunities.

The fee structure is 78,000 rupees for the semester fee and 18,000 rupees for the mess and hostel fee. There are scholarship options which are provided by the Bengal government to the student of West Bengal. As of now no fee hike has been done the fee amount is constant for the semester but the hostel and mess fee changes from year to year. I haven't received any stipend from this college but if I will do an internship then I will get a stipend.

The campus life is very good it provides a very good exposure with the seniors as they guide us in our academics and resolve our queries. The social life is also good there are various clubs like the entrepreneurship club, entertainment club, tech clubs, dance clubs, music clubs etc. Our college conducts two fests which are the 2nd biggest fest in the northeastern part of India named AROHAN(Which is the tech fest of NIT Durgapur) and RECSTACY(The cultural fest of NIT Durgapur). The campus contains a library which has a lot of resources and it operates from 8 am in the morning to 10 pm till night. The classrooms here have air conditioning and projectors which makes studying enjoyable. There are many extracurricular activities in the college like badminton(stadium level courts), cricket, football and many other sports played in the institute. The hostel authority is very good as they have mentained teh hostel very well and our hostel is newly constructed due to which it looks more modern and clean. The mess food is also very good as the quality of the food is good and we have veg and non veg options in our mess. The hostel is given to each and every person who is pursuing btech from nit durgapur and the registration of the hostel are conducted at the beginning of every year the hostel is very affordable the hostel is situated in the campus only ans the campus is situated at Durgapur, City Center.

The eligibility of my course was 1. We had to clear a national level exam called JEE Mains in that we had to secure a good rank to secure a seat at this college. The exam is conducted twice a year in which the best performance is noted and accordingly, your rank is decided and the application form can be found at the jee mains registration website. The reservation benefits are also there for the students of OBC, ST, SC, GEN-economically weaker section, and PWD and home state quota is also given. The only improvement that I seek is to reduce the time of the full process of admission like we had to wait at least 1 month for the seat allocation process.
