- MESS FOOD FOR VEG PEOPLE; not much good food for vegetarian people .
- No swimming pool ,Administration can use barren area land to convert it into swimming pool.
- Compact and Small size gym ,GYM should be larger .
Course Curriculum Overview
I've chosen this course as the initial start of my career as Sundar Pichai has started by pursuing B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Faculty are friendly and talk about life lessons apart from teaching as they are well qualified in their particular subjects. Professors hold their Ph. D.s in particular fields from premier institutes like IIT/NIT.NIT Professors are known for their POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH, Teaching Experience, Research Publications, and Professional Experience. In a semester Two exams are taken (MID TERM and END TERM). The Exams are difficult as compared to normal engineering colleges or private colleges. One has to study well to get good marks and pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities
3rd-year students are eligible to apply for campus internships. Companies like TATA METALLICS, TATA Steel, Tech companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Accenture, ZE, maths work, physics wallah. (software developer/web developer/AI/ML engineer etc.) Can also apply for off-campus placement. if you are a good skillful person you will surely get a campus internship.
Placement Experience
Placements are good enough even if you are from the core branch. Here are some stats from the session of 2022-23. NO. OF RECRUITERS:187, TOTAL OFFERS:718, NO. OF ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:762, TOTAL PLACED:633(83.07%), AVERAGE PACKAGE:13.64LPA, HIGHEST PACKAGE:72LPA, CSE average: 21.6 LPA .
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for one semester is like tuition fees:62500, other charges:20000. For financially weak students there is a scholarship provided to students based on the ANNUAL FAMILY INCOME. Students willing to avail of this benefit have to submit ANNUAL FAMILY INCOME CERTIFICATE. For SC/ST: 100% Tuition fee waived off. Family income< 1 lakh: 100% Tuition fee waived off. Family income< 5 lakh: 75% Tuition fee waived off. Family income >5 lakh: no waive off.
Campus Life
Campus life is good at NIT DURGAPUR. Lush green campus spread over 187 acres. Eastern India's second largest techno-management fest "AAROHAN" for 4 days in the month of MARCH. RECSTACY is the annual cultural fest and is full of fun . Concerts of famous singers (VISHAL MISHRA/SHREYA GHOSHAL and many more ). Famous DJs are invited for DJ night. Famous bands have done their concerts also.
Hostel Facilities
1st and 2nd year Hostels are new ones. 3-person occupancy .1 Bed,1 Study Table,1 Chair,1 Study Lamp,1 cupboard. Hostels are good . MESS FOOD is not so good not so bad. It's average. And good for NON-VEG people (FISH/EGG/CHICKEN/MUTTON) are on the menu. 3rd and 4th-year hostels are old ones 3 person occupancy there also. Hostel charges are low 5000 for 6 months with all facilities. Hostel registration is online so it is good.
Admission
The Admission process for NIT Durgapur takes intake in an undergraduate program in B.Tech, IntFor Foreign nationals, including nonresidential Indians (NRIs) can apply through the Direct Admission Of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme for undergraduate egrated (B.Tech+M.Tech) and Integrated (B.Sc+M.Sc) via the JEE MAINS entrance exam. For Application fees and application dates, you've to visit the official website of JoSAA (josaa.nic.in). Reservations like OBC NCL and Gen EWS are almost the same you can get some benefits not as much as ST/SC. The admission process of NIT Durgapur is excellent due to the online admission process and document verification.No Need for physical reporting to the institute.
