Course Curriculum Overview
I have personally always been interested in chemical engineering. The brief faculty-student ratio is roughly 1:45. Most faculties are at least Ph.D. qualified. The term exams are in a gap of 2 months between the mid-term and end-term. Passing isn't very difficult.
Internships Opportunities
Some of the companies that visit include Microsoft, John Deere, Hindustan Petroleum, Mercedes, PWC, Wells Fargo, and so on. One can do projects under professors in one's own department or other departments as well.
Placement Experience
One becomes eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. The companies that visit include Microsoft, Wells Fargo, John Deere, Tata Steel, Adobe, etc. The placement percentage in 2023 was 90 percent for metallurgy, 88 for ece, 86 for electrical, and 84 for cse. I personally would like to get into the core sector post-engineering.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are mostly available for international students. The fees have lately hiked even more. The fees can be cut down to fit the needs of the regular middle-class students. However, scopes of scholarships are available from the government portals.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty good. The annual cultural Fest is Recstacy and the annual tech fest is Arohan. Recstacy is conducted in April and Arohan is conducted in March at the time of spring. Books and journals are available in bulk. Smart classroom facilities are available. Sports facilities are good just that there isn't scope for swimming here. A wide variety of clubs and societies are available.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms in the new hostels are good but in the older hostels aren't great. Meal quality needs a lot of improvement and so does the menu. The registration process for hostels is via online links provided via email. The localities provide scope for PGs.
Admission
The admission process was smooth. To be eligible the rank requirements for the various categories keep varying. For OBC the cutoff for higher branches is usually 95 whereas for general it is 98 plus. However, for SC, it is around 88 and ST is around 70. More reservation is allowed for females and PWDs.
