- Some of the faculties are very strict so be careful.
- The attendance policy is very strict and if u have below 75 percent it will be a problem.
- Some seniors tend to do ragging and the smoking and alcohol is high.
Course Curriculum Overview
As usual, I didn't choose my course. It was through counseling and I was happy I got into mechanical engineering. The faculty in our college i.e nit Durgapur is very qualified. the ratio of students to teachers is very high example in the first year 200 students were there in a single class. The faculty is good. They teach well but we have to practice a lot. Yes, it is a difficult task to pass as in the engineering college we do not study that well and I would suggest you do group studies during the exams.
Internships Opportunities
There are a lot of internship opportunities if you have a good score and the stipend varies from company to company. You have to do a lot of projects if u want to get a good job. Seniors are the best people to ask if you have any doubts about the project and also u can consult the lectures.
Placement Experience
From the 5 semesters you are eligible for internship and other things in the 7 semesters you will be having campus interviews. there are many companies that visit our campus like Microsoft, google, amazon, etc 80 percent of the students are placed. I would prefer to do a master's.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the semester is around 17000 for ST candidates and there is no fee hike policy. I was not eligible for a scholarship because of my father's income but there are many scholarships you can apply for if you are eligible in our college.
Campus Life
The campus life I would say is ok. it a not a very big campus we have limited places to roam. we have many clubs. There are many fests that will be taking place in the months of march and April. aarohan is the biggest fest in our college. We have a digital classroom. The sports and extracurricular activities are good.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are ok . we are having a 3 sharing room. we will be provided with a table bed cupboard and a study lamp. the mess is not that good I have to get adjusted to it. the registration process is very simple you have them provide them with the documents they would ask for.
Admission
The eligibility criteria were simple. At our time we have the pass the 12 board and then apply for jee mains. I got all the information through the jossa and Jee websites. you can all the information about the exams the application fees and other important dates through their websites. Yes, I get a reservation. I am a candidate.
