Course Curriculum Overview
My course is metallurgical and materials engineering I choosed this course because this seems interesting to me and the faculty in my course is good and student ratio is bad 5:1 ratio (boys to girls)there teaching method is not very modern but they are good understandable they are highly qualified MTech from iits and other big institutions there are 2 semesters and passing is not so difficult one can pass if they study one day before
Internships Opportunities
Microsoft gives most interships there are also many summer internships recruiters like Wells Fargo, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj .after internships if the student seems good for the company they directly take him I m first year so haven't got any internships yet
Placement Experience
In my course 90% students get placed in companies like Tatasteel , reliance, Vedanta , visa steel , JSW steel ltd etc avg package is around 11 lakhs highest pakage goes up to 21 lakhs. My plans is after getting degree I will go for MBA
Fees and Financial Aid
Well, for a middle class family it's not affordable and if the student is general candidates per semester tuition fees is around ?62500 for general and for other it vary depending upon there income certificate. I didn't got any scholarships and I don't have any idea about it
Campus Life
Aarohan fest it is conducted in march Aaviskar tech fest November time There is a central library at nit Durgapur plenty of books are available there and it has a collection of around 1.7 lakh books . It provides free WiFi It time for opening is 8:30 am to 12:00 midnight We have 2 grounds where many inter nit matches are conducted football, weightlifting basketball badminton etc so . If sporty people it's nit Durgapur is a good choice there are many clubs like cca , mnc, Darpan, danceclub,debating society,enteract,mntc and many excellent clubs over all campus life is good here
Hostel Facilities
For first year students hall 11 is provided it's a big. Hostel it have 4 badminton courts, one basketball court and a volleyball court and for the rooms , rooms are very spacious although 3 person shares one room still rooms are good study table chair bed almirahs are provided for each student study lamp 2 tubelights 2 fans in one room and also a big windows Hostel mess is good for the non-veg people it's very good they provide good quality of meat and for vegetarian it's little difficult to survive because they only have paneer in option hostel is provided during offline reporting mess fee is ?24000 overall experience is good
Admission
For taking admission I cleared joint entrance examination (JEE) . This exam happens in January and April when the NTA portal activates where students can fill up the form it's price vary from ?1000 (for general candidate) to ?800 for female candidates and other for reserved candidates . I am a general candidate so didn't availed any benefits. No improvement needed everything goes smoothly. I took admission in national institute of technology Durgapur where all the documentation process was online mode only we had offline reporting for the hostel allotment but before taking admission there is jossa round where colleges are alloted there are total 5 rounds and csab around after these process one can take admission
