- Mess food is not upto the mark. Mess good should be improved.
- There is too much restrictions on 1st year students to prevent them from ragging, which is good in a way but it's sometimes irritating.
- Writing lab reports unnecessarily instead of allowing time for actual knowledge gain and the 75% attendance criteria
Course Curriculum Overview
NIT Durgapur has very rigorous course curriculum. The curriculum is updated every year according to the modern need of the society. Coding, DSA, and circuital branches are taught extensively to meet the growing needs. Although all other branches are very good and people can go there to pursue research. The professors are highly knowledgeable here and very supportive. The professors constitute of top 2% scientists in the world. Exams, practicals, events, fests everything are held very timely.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are very good. Big MNCs come here for placement. But as I have joined college since only 4 months, so I am not much aware of the internship companies which visit here or the striped or project outcomes. But here students mostly get paid internship.
Placement Experience
Placement at NIT Durgapur is very good. Last year i.e., in 2022-23 batch, the highest package was 70L. CSE department students has an average placement of 21.5 lakhs. And the overall average is 13.65 lpa which is quiet high.
Fees and Financial Aid
In the first sem fee is 113000 + 19000 mess charges. From the second semester onwards it will be 82000 + mess charges. The mess charges are quiet high. Although students belonging to SC/ ST category, or OBC, Gen-EWS.
Campus Life
Recsacy is the annual fest of NIT Durgapur and Arohan is the tech fest. 110000 books are present in the college's waste. Classrooms are very big, has AC, projector, loud speaker for the teacher to tell. Sports facility is very good. There are badminton, vollyball and all other sports facilities are present
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is compulsory for everyone. Each room consists of 4 beds for 4 heheeAnd the process of applying for hostel is also transparent and well arranged. Hostels are clean, hai many lifts. Food is okaish but could have been better. The security of the hostel is also very good.
Admission
Candidate must clear JEE main exam to get eligible for this college. Candidate must secure 75% in his boards exam or must be in the top 20 percentile in his boards. Also, the candidates who have given their class 12th boards exam on 2022, 2023 or will be appearing in 2024 are only eligible. Candidates who have appeared for 12th board exam on or before 2021 are not eligible. The application form can be found on the official website of JEE Main 2024 (although the registration process for 1st session is over, but you can sit in 2nd session). After clearing exam, you have to sit in JOSAA and CSAB counseling rounds and there you will be allotted colleges based on your rank.
