- Location of the college.. It takes only 30min to travel from hostel to station
- Ragging free campus and you don't have to be tensed about ragging,the anti ragging committee is so much strict here
- Best hostel among all the NITs I can bet..The best quality food you will get atleast in 1st year
Dislikes
- The rules are so much strict that you cannot even discover the campus by your own.
- Don't know why but I feel like many faculties have so much arrogance
- Pollution is there as Durgapur is an Industrial city
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose 4 years Btech mechanical engineering because in my rank I was only getting this????. Faculty and student ratio is good there.Dont know about the exact figures. Most of the faculty members are highly qualified even they did research in foreign ..but having excellent degree doesn't mean they have excellence in teaching. In a semester,we have two exams,one is mid term and other one is end term..mid term consists of 25 marks and end term has 60 marks .passsing the exams are easy but if you want to score good marks,you have to study for 1week atleast
Internships Opportunities
I don't know anything about internship and stipends and projects because I'm only in first year , don't know what to do in my future life.. If I come to know about this details I will surely inform....
Placement Experience
Students will become eligible for on campus placements since the 7th semester. Companies like google, Microsoft, Qualcomm,goldman,Oracle,Airbus and many other brand companies visits our campus.Our placements stats are getting better every year also. 85% students were placed last year and thr avg package was 13.64 LPA with highest package of 70LPA from mechanical department
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees: 66000(per sem) Other fees: 16500 Hostel fees:19000 If your family income is less than 1 lakh then you don't have to pay any tuition fees. If your family income is in between 1-5lakh then you have to pay 1/3rd of the tuition fees. You can apply svmcm and other govt scholarships from college
Campus Life
We have 2 main fests, Arohan and Recstacy,Arohan in tech fest held in August and Recstacy is cultural fest held in April. You will get all types of books in our big library You will get all type of facilities for sports there There are almost 30 clubs in our college which are run by students
Hostel Facilities
You will get a 3 students shared room in a 6 floor hostel with basketball,tennis, volleyball, badminton ground and 2 common rooms. You will get 1 night lamp,2 tubelights,1 bed,1 wardrobe,1 chair and table in that room You have to do hostel allotment after the Counseling process is being done
Admission
Eligibility of course:- 75% in boards We have to give and qualify JEE mains exam..for further info,go to jeemain.nta.nic.in website. Don't know about reservation benefits. But you have to score 95+ %ile if you are general and 87%ile for Obc Atleast to get admission in the last branch
