Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because i had a interest in mechanical field There are sufficient faculty members to reach out to the students. Most of the professors are IITians and their teaching methodology is also really nice. There are generally 1 mid sem exam and 1 end sem exam in a semester and in between there are multiple CAs
Internships Opportunities
Accenture offered a paid intership to a student of mechanical department. I dont have idea about the projects as i have not been selected in any of the interships offered by various companies in the campus
Placement Experience
From 5th semester students gets eligible for campus placements There are various companies like wells fargo, Microsoft that visited and there were total of 700 offers The highest package of NIT Durgapur is 70lacs and average package is 13.64 lpa 83.07% students got placed I plan to do MBA
Fees and Financial Aid
As a general student 8.4 lacs (approx) is reqd for tution fee. Apart from that if you opt for hostels there is a mandatory hostel fee and mess fee. There are various scholarships like SVMCM and banks are there to offer you loans.
Campus Life
There is annual fest named recstacy and there are multiple events like recrave, uttarayan in between. There are sufficient books to cater every students in the campus. The classrooms are big, spacious and there are multiple ACs to beat the summer heat. In the first year, there will be a subject for sports. You can chose through various sports like cricket, football. Classes are held at early morning. Apart from that there are also Inter-NIT tournament that happens throughout the year There are many clubs in the college namely Radio nitroz , literary circle
Hostel Facilities
Each room consists of 3 fans, 3 table,3 chairs,3 cabinets to store your valuables and 3 beds. Food is average.You get coupons for breakfast lunch and dinner, which you have to carry to get food from the mess
Admission
You should be Jee mains qualified and should have a valid rank. Counselling happens through JOSAA and if you get any college in the 1st round you have to pay a seat acceptance fee. If you get any other college in the 2nd round you can use float.
