- Placements are quite good as most of the students get placed as after completing their degree.
Dislikes
- The course follows the old methods... Like in mechanical engineering we have engineering drawing where we have to draw part diagrams using pencil but in the industry everyone uses software so engineering drawing using software should be more focused
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is pretty lengthy but the teachers try their best to complete the course within the stipulated period of time. For every subject in the course we have 1 to 2 faculty members. We usually appear for 3 exams throughout the course viz. Continuous Assessment 1, Continuous Assessment 2 and End term examination. One can easily pass the exams if they regularly follow what is being taught in the classes
Internships Opportunities
A few companies like Microsoft, JPMC, Wells Fargo, TVS Motors, ITC etc. provide a stipend varying from 30k to 100k per month and most of them provide pre placement offers. Projects were much helpful in learning a subject. It was a good experience.
Placement Experience
Placements begins from 7th sem which is the beginning of 4th year. Companies visiting our college are Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Wells Fargo etc. nearly 200 companies visit our college. Highest package received is 80 lpa and it is off campus... On campus highest package is 52 lpa from Microsoft. 80% students get placed at the end of placement session. I have been placed as a data analyst in an IT company and I plan to pursue my career from there after I complete my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Regarding the fees structure... We have to pay tuition fees for every semester which goes for a duration of 6 months as well as hostel fees of 19000. For the scholarship I don't have any such knowledge.
Campus Life
We organise a couple of annual events like Aarohan which is a technical fest organised by our college clubs and it takes place in the month of March. Besides we have another fest Recstacy organised by student Gymkhana committee. There is a vast collection of books in the library. Sports and extracurricular activities are manifold as well... We have badminton, volleyball, basketball courts as well as cricket and football grounds. Recursion is a club focusing on competitive programming and it is run by students.
Hostel Facilities
We have lights, table fans and all the basic requirements in our rooms. Food is not always delicious... However considering the fact that they have to prepare food for 500 students everyday, it is very likely that the food is not upto the mark. Hostel registration is smooth... We have to submit a few documents including receipt for hostel payment. I didn't rent any PG
Admission
I appeared for the Jee main examination in the year 2020... And I qualified with a rank of 34808. With this rank, as an unreserved student, I was eligible to get admission in NIT Durgapur with mechanical engineering as my major degree. The admission process was smooth and had no issues
