Course Curriculum Overview
1) Computer Science and Engineering is the most advanced and demanding stream in current days to choose for career. 2) faculty stuednt ration is approx 225 faculty and 4000 students. 3) Faculties are all highly qualified (mostly have done MTech and PHD from IIT/ NIT/ Jadavpur University) . 4) Mid term and end term exams are taken as per schedule published . It is not much difficult to pass but a little bit difficult to get a CGPA above 9 .
Internships Opportunities
JPMC, Microsoft, MATLAB , CESC, Pepsico, Wells fargo, Nvidia are some companies which offered Internship opportunites in SDE, Business analytics domain. Stipend is in the range between RS. 20000 - 100000 per month .
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for Campus placement in fourth (final) year only . But Students are eligible to apply for On-Campus internship opportunities and get a ppo. 180+ companies visited in our campus last year (Microsoft , Samsung, JP Morgan, Oracle, BPCL, Delloite, PWC, John Deer, TCS etc.) and more than 700 jobs were offered . Highes package offered is 50 lpa by Microsoft this year, average package is rs 10-12 lpa . Overall over 80% students are placed in previous year.
Fees and Financial Aid
1)There is no fee hike policy and cost to study depends on category of student (Gen/ SC/ ST etc.) and annual family income of student. 2) Student with family income less than 1 lac per year and SC / ST students get a complete tution fee waiver ( which is rs 62500 per semester). Students with family income less than 5 lac per year need to pay approx. 30% of tution fee only. 3) A lots of company visits for placement in our campus like Microsoft, JP Morgan , Oracle, Texas Instruments, BPCL, HP, Delloite, PWC, TCS, Wells Fargo, BNY Mellon , Amdocs , NVIDIA etc. Average packege is around 10 lpa with highest packege of 50 lpa (microsoft) .
Campus Life
AAROHON and RECSTACY are the biggest annual fest conducted in our college . A plenty of books and journals are available in the library. There are several badminton court, Table tennis board , volleyball court and play ground in our campus for sports. All the Classrooms have projector for presenting ppt slide in whiteboard. Classrooms of New Academic Buildind are of modern standards and have is air conditioned. There are several clubs and societies like CSE student's society, GLUG , Recursion, Dance club, Quizinc , Devsoc etc. and almost every club has their own website.
Hostel Facilities
Second year boys are allocated in hall 14 which is newest hostel and therefore rooms are very good , Hall 11 is also good as it is also newly built and it is allocated to 1st year boys . Rooms of ther boy's hostel are not good that much but one can live there thats all. Meal quality is moderate overall . Thre is special dinner once in every week and ideal dinner once in every month. Prior notification is given for hostel registration and the process is simple. All the students are allocated hostel , therefor there is no need to rent a room or PG.
Admission
1) Eligibility of the Cource : Students need to get decent rank in JEE Mains Exam and clear the cutoff rank for respective branch which varies on category of student, Gender, Whether he/she is from home state (West Bengal) or other state. 2) Admission process of NIT durgapur is done via JOSAA counselling (on the basis of JEE Mains Rank). Once one is allocated NIT Durgapur through counselling he/she should accept the allocation and pay admission fees (Rs. 25000 approx) + first semester fee (RS. 62500 approx) . After that he/she should follow NIT Durgapur's official website for forther admission process. 3) 50% seats are reserved for Home state and other 50% seats are reserved for other states . Also there is reservation of seats for ST, ST, OBC, Gen-Ews and female Students. SC,ST and students of family income less than 1 lac per year need not pay any tution fee (which is Rs. 62500 per semester) and students of family income less than 5 lac per year need to pay partial tution fee.
