Strict School like rules with a decent opportunity for some

Only take this college if u have a bad rank in AIEEE or UPTU. If u have a decent rank , please do not waste money and take admission here.

when I passed out of school in 2009. This was one of the premier institutions for Petroleum Engineering. It had the good reputation of big firms visiting the campus like Cairn India, ONGC, and Schlumberger, Accenture, Wipro, Sterling Global Oil resources, Essar oil etc. College provides us an internship and reasonable opportunity to get placed provided we have a decent CGPA The oil prices were also going up during that time which kind of pushed me too. Also, my rank in AIEEE was below average: 86 thousand. After joining in I had many people who had the rank within 30 thousand in my class too.

The course curriculum is like any other normal private engineering college. The only difference here is teachers use Slides which means Power point presentation , pdf etc. The domain specific subjects start from the third year. My subjects were Drilling engineering , Reservoir engineering , Thermodyanmics , Enhanced OIL recovery.

They provide the internship to every student . This is guaranteed. Please do not worry about this fact. I did my internship in ONGC ahemdabad Asset. Generally internships are 1.5-2.5 months. Paid or unpaid depends on company. Ongc it was unpaid. Cairn India or schlumberger give decent stipend. However for some courses like Automotive designing Engineering it is of 4 months.

During my time i will list the companies that came for hiring Cairn india, Schlumberger, Tech mahindra , Halliburton , ITC , Aveva Software, Larson n turbo , sterling global oil resources. out of 71 i think around 12 stayed unplaced. Most of the 12 were toppers so they did not want to work for companies who paid less salary . They could not clear procedures offered by Big firms.

The main event for which everyone waits in college is Urrja . This is the name of the fest of the college. Lot of cool things happen . Battle of Bands , Ms Uurja and Mr Uurja , fashion show, Beg borrow steal , counter strike tournament. All tournaments have cash prizes.

Fee structure in undoubted expensive. My fee was 82k for 6 months My hostel fee was 62k. Even at that time this was one of the most expensive colleges at that time. The fee is certainly way to high than the quantity and quality of opportunities they provide.

I do not have any information regarding scholarships .So its better i dont give any false info. However univ does have bank tie ups as many of my friends did take loan.

Gender ratio is poor in petroleum courses. However overall it was quite healthy . More females started to pour in IT courses. This improved the diversity. The labs are of decent quality. Upes does have one big ground . Cricket n football tournaments do take place every year.

My personal exp was in the 1st year it was really good. Though quality dipped in the second year. However people of other college hostels told campus food was the best . Hostel facilities are triple sharing , common bathrooms , one common room to dry clothes

Some senior students did help as i found one during my work experience in Accenture. However with regards to the alumni network i do not have much knowledge.

Mid Sem and End Semester this keeps happening for first 2 years. After 3rd year there is comprehensive viva , major project and minor project having good weightage . The internship which you do also carries marks. Mid sem and end sem exam both happen in the same way. By same way i mean exams happen daily without any break. Break is only given on sundays.

I will discuss how everyone gets admission in college. My batch had 60 students. 15% seats were for direct admission meaning, they will take admission on CBSE score that based on Physics ,Chemistry and Maths average. I had 87% plus marks . Maths 92 Chemistry 93 and Physics 74. Others my batch mates had given the entrance exam that is UPSEAT The top rankers only get Applied Petroleum Engineering as it is the flagship course there

The faculty is below average. See for Petroleum engineering course they rope in people who retired from ONGC give them slides to teach. Although they are well-qualified people having an experience they seldom have the enthusiasm or interest to teach. Many faculties who are younger only exist in the university because they get an opportunity to do their Ph.D.
