Dislikes
- Things that I dislike are mostly that we don't get as much practical knowledge in our courses that we want to get.
- The college need to work on its infrastructure as most of the times we get short of classes.
- This college being a part of North campus is not well known but I think it holds ability to rise upto level of other north campus college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had an interest in history that's why I chose this course. However the curriculum can be made more efficient with the inclusion of practical knowledge. By organising heritage walks and taking on trips by explaining the architecture and their details. That would make students more interested in the course because at some point only reading the theory makes the subject boring. But the faculty of my college have some decent teachers who teach with utter most dedication and makes us understand the concept better.
Fees and Financial Aid
The main profit of studying in University of Delhi is that it is indeed very affordable and the courses of social science are affordable too. For example my course in my college was 19750 in first year and 17750 in second year. Other than that we only has to fill examination form which costs about 1300 depending practical subjects you are studying. Talking of campus employment opportunities this course offers none as you have to pursue masters in order to get job in this specific field.
Campus Life
The campus environment in my college is overall satisfying. The college has about 18 societies which are active in their own domain. We have our annual fest Manjari two times a year along with fest of other departments and the annual fest of NSS. These fests were held at a broad level. The library has books related to almost every field and it is well maintained. Talking of technology so there are classrooms with projectors and the college Library has wifi access. Also the labs are in well maintained conditions.
Admission
First of all applied for CUET entrance exam which covered almost every government university. The application form was available on Cuet samarth website. The examination happened in two slots where I have to chose the subjects according to the eligibility criteria for the university I was targeting. As I was filling for History Hons and Bcom Hons both so I had to give the exam in two slots whith respective subjects and General test as well. The application form costed to me almost ?1300(?650 for each slot). As I was from the general category so I didn't availed any reservation benefit. When the result was announced I applied for University of Delhi and Filled the preference list with college and course. What I felt was that the whole process was very lethargic and many things were not made clear in the beginning thus leading to the failure of many students in taking admissions
