Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My course was science during high school but during pandemic I grew a keen interest in economics as I observed the opportunities in this course are vast. we are learning the theory part of the course but in higher studies, we'll learn the real-world applications too like data analysis, forecasting, hypothesis testing of economic activities etc.

Internships Opportunities

2

College do provide internship in the final year of the degree mostly. But there is a lot of issue with the attendance. The college is very strict with student's attendance. One must have 66% attendance in each subject for appearing in end semester exam. So it makes it quite difficult to manage both class attendance and internship specially when the internship is offline and students have to go on site for work.

Placement Experience

2

Students become eligible for Placements in final year of the degree. Placements are there but the annual salary package is not very high. According to my knowledge till now the highest package any student got was about 6 lacs . After completing graduation many students go for Masters from University of Delhi. Many students like few of my known seniors are pursuing MBA from known colleges after appearing for entrance exams . Besides them many go for competitive and government post exams such as UPSC ,PCS etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure depends on the course you have opted for. During the admission my fee was about 27000 including admission and tuition fee for the first year. In the second year it was about 20000 which I believe would be the same for third year. College provides internship but there is an issue with attendance. 66% attendance is mandatory to appear in the end semester exam which makes it difficult to manage both classes and internship. Job placement is there but the package is not very high. The highest package for my course is 6 lacs per annum.

Campus Life

4

Infrastructure is really good compared to other north campus colleges of the University. There are many societies in which students can take part according to their interests. These societies organise competition time to time . Besides them, annual fest named SHRUTI takes place and is a grand experience for me. Infrastructure includes well-maintained class rooms, auditorium, AV theatre, seminar hall, labs for subjects like computer, evs, psychology etc. The library is full of books in 3 whole floors. One can issue any book from the counter. Sports activities are not much held . However annual sports day is celebrated in which cricket, badminton and other tournaments are held . Campus is peaceful. Overall campus life is good .

Admission

The application process is through CUET conducted after the 12th board exams as an entrance exam for colleges all over India. In the application form which is available on CUET's main site, you have to opt for Universities and their colleges to which you're willing to take admission. The cut-offs are announced after the exams. For the application fees and date, one can check the official website of CUET. The admission process was smooth for me. There was no difficulty that I faced with my college admission

Faculty

4

Overall the Faculty of the college is good. However, faculty of my department are some of the best professors in the University. My current economics teacher is herself a gold medalist in economics and is well qualified for her position in the college. There are experienced professors who have been teaching in the same college for a long time and understand the pattern of teaching very well. My mathematics teacher retired this year. She studied at the same college and continued to teach in the same. She is the BEST teacher out there. She is well qualified and knows how to make students understand everything in an easier way given the subject is MATHS.

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
