Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Computer Science and engineering since it aligns with my interests. Also, market trends show the increasing demand for CS grads. The curriculum is well prepared but lags a bit given the current market scenario. Yet, yes its still very much relevant. I would suggest including more practical sessions to enable students to learn various tech stacks. Teaching methods may be improved if it's made more interactive. There are two long exams per sem. One of 30 marks and the other of 70. The level of difficulty is moderate to hard.
Internships Opportunities
sde roles are offered by various companies visiting the campus. Chief companies: goldman sachs, microsoft, JPMC, NVIDIA, pwc, Qualcomm, DE Shaw Many have grabbed off campus internships at GOOGLE too! we need to build projects for our resume, our seniors help a lot. The current markte scenario is quite competitive, so a lot of good projects on resume is important for getting selected.
Placement Experience
3rd year onwards, companies start coming for hiring interns. During placement season, lots of companies arrive to hire deserving grads. Microsoft, accenture, infosys, JPMC, pwc, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, DE Shaw, Wells Fargo, Adobe, Oracle, Morgan Stanley.. and many more mainly come for hiring cs grads. Some other branch students can also apply depeding on company recruiting rules. Highest package provided is 55 LPA and median is 12 LPA. My plan is to try to get a good placement after graduating.
Fees and Financial Aid
So long there has not been an increase in tution fees. We're following the same brochure as given during the admission. Every sem we need to pay tution fees. The complete cost is 8 lakhs for 4 years of study. Various financial aids are available. In the campus there are many clubs where you may give auditions and get selected for a role, but these are not paid roles, its just for experience.
Campus Life
Annual Technical fest: Aarohan, Cultural fest: Recstacy. Held around the end of March and the beginning of April. A wide variety of books and journals are available. We don't need to buy books at all, we can easily issue from the library for coursework. Smartboards, speakers, and air conditioners are installed in every classroom in the New Academic Building. The rooms are quite spacious. Football, basketball, tennis, and badminton are the most popular sports. Taekwondo/Yoga is part of coursework. Two large grounds are there for students to play. Lots of clubs and societies to help you learn and grow together.
Hostel Facilities
Table, chair, bed, lights, fan, clean washrooms are provided. Mess facilites are available. Meal quality is average-to-good. Menu is customised for both veg and non-veg people. Hostel registration process is intimated after admission process and is quite smooth. It is definitely affordable. By rules, students have to stay in hostel, not pg.
Admission
You're eligible for this course if you have a good percentile in JEEMains (>=99.0 percentile). Application forms and all admission-related procedures are conducted by JoSAA (and CSAB). Two exams are conducted per sem with a difficulty level of moderate-hard. The admission process is quite smooth and no improvements are required.
Faculty
There is one professor per subject to teach you the theory in class (class strength around 115). There are TAs to help you understand the practical application. The TAs are readily approachable. We can also contact the professors through the emails provided. Moreover, there are labs every week, wherever you'll get individual attention in case you face difficulty anywhere.
