Entrance Preview

.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is prepared by a well experienced faculty and is of high standards depending upon the industry needs and also on the students. There are eight branches to choose. In third year and fourth, you are given a chance to opt for open electives. These electives are given based on the cgpa secured by the student.

Internships Opportunities

Yes there are numerous offers in internships. Almost all of the big companies like Microsoft,Amazon, Qualcomm etc. visit the campus. But there will a selection procedure and a Cgpa cutoff too.

Placement Experience

5

There are remarkable placements in the campus. As you know NIT is a very well known institute throughout India. Hence the placements are high. In CSE,ECE ,IT the placements are high compared to other branches. However all the branches have a minimum placement of 70%.

College Events

4.5

There are numerous fests in the college throughout the year. The annual techno management fest AAROHAN is the second largest fest in eastern India. There is a new fest called Aavishkar which has been started as a cultural fest from 2018. These fests attract a huge number of students from all over the country.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If the annual income is Above five lakhs :70,000 per semester If in between one lakh and five lakhs : 25,000 per semester and if below one lakh it is nearly seven thousand per semester. For SC and ST it is seven thousand per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many number of scholarships available based on the category and merit of the student. There are two banks inside the campus namely SBI and Canara bank. They offer student loans, and it's easy for a student to get it.

Campus Life

5

The gender ratio is around 6:4 (Male:Female). However by the increase of girls reservation percentage I guess there will be a tremendous change in ratio. We can say that there is a huge diversity in students as it's a national institute which provides roof to students from different states and countries too.

Hostel Facilities

4

The mess food is okay (just okay). However during the special dinner(once a week) and ideal dinner (once a month) you will find delicious meals , I promise you will enjoy it. Also there are numerous food stalls by the name jhoops just outside the campus which satisfy all the hunger needs of NIT.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful , whether it may a placement or internship or some other exam. The institute has a rich alumni settled in different parts of the world. They are very helpful during placements and studies.

Exam Structure

The exams are held twice a year by the name of END SEMESTER EXAMINATION and there will be a mid sem exam in each semester which is of 30% of total score. The labs exams are good enough ,not so hectic not so easy. But the experiments are to be performed by the individual and there will be a practical test at the end of the semester.

Faculty

4.5

The college comprises of prestigious faculty who are well experienced with research concerned and they are also highly qualified. Some of them are friendly, of course you will find some old professors as well. Each department has it's own faculty and they are continuously working on several research projects.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
