Course Curriculum Overview

4

I opted for History Honours in my graduation reason is that I liked history from my school time and wanted to study it more deeper. this course is relevant because it connects us to our past and history and enhances our critical thinking, analytical ability, and writing skills,it provides you a better perspective to see the world. in teaching methods we should use artificial intelligence, visuals, and site tours it would help students in learning in the curriculum rather than adding many skill papers . college should be added a more discipline-specific course. generally, history papers are more lengthy than other subjects. timing of exams should be adjusted because exams are conducted in severe winter and severe hot days .

Internships Opportunities

3.5

many companies like ABP News,KPMG,Josh talks BYJUs,Dell,American express,Bain etc. visit the campus for placements . these companies provide various job opportunities in the fields like Finance, Investment Banking , consultancy, research, marketing, accounting, media etc.

Placement Experience

3.5

placement of a student depends on what kind of course he/she opted if someone opted courses like B.com, Economics hon., or BBA have a great chance of placement and getting excellent packages. I opted for History Hon. in this course placement chances are very low because most BA students opt their course because it helps them in preparing government exams like Civil services and PCS etc. students after the 5th semester are eligible for their college placements, the highest package of my college was 36.50 LPA and the average package is 10.50 LPA. JSW,HCL, KPMG, and AON were the top companies that visited last year around 30%of College courses offer placement I will prepare for the CSE exam after getting my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hi, Ayush from the History department of Hindu College, The one-year fee for this course for General, OBC (NCL) is 26870 Rupees, and for SC and ST 26685 Rupees. There was an increase in the fee last year. College offers a scholarship for this course called the Raj Bhargava Foundation scholarship, which started in 2022. it offers 75000 rupees per year to students who have this scholarship. ELIGIBILITY- students have to pass MAT (Merit Assessment Test )and interactive session.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience with campus life is excellent. I was involved in many club activities. Mecca, Mushai rah, and Vaktavaya are some festivals of college out of Mecca is a very famous fest that is held every year in the library, we have a very wide range of accessible books and journals available in the library which include all subjects classes are equipped with Internet connection, projectors, lights, fans, and seats.in old building AC`s also available. Ex-cricketer Gautam Gambhir is also an alumnus of the Hindu college The college has a sports complex which includes a gym and various types of indoor and outdoor playgrounds like cricket ground, football ground, volleyball court, basket ball court, etc. various societies organized various extracurricular activities College has 64 societies which is created to enhance students' professional development and promote their hobbies there is very positive impact on student's overall development .

Admission

I chose this college because it is the NO.1 college for arts in all India and I also applied to AU, JMI University, and BBAU Lucknow as backup options I got selected by all these colleges but I chose Hindu College because it was my first preference because the faculty, and infrastructure of Hindu College is better than other colleges To get admission in Hindu College I applied for the CUET exam to fulfill the criteria of Delhi University you have to give 4 subject papers exams (3 Domains,1 Language), and these 4 subjects you also studied in your 12th class as well. I scored 764 out of 800 and merit for OBC (Ncl) was 760 so I got selected and was admitted to College. the admission process takes place online on CSAS portal you have to accept your allocated seats and deposit the fees for one year and your seat will be automatically confirmed by the college. College administration is very cooperative and faster than other universities

Faculty

5

in my college faculty of around 160 members and 3600 students, the relationship between faculty and students is very good, The faculty is highly supportive try to give their best to students I am from the history department, and my HOD Mr.Shankar Kumar, I liked him very much he taught me ancient India. I like the way he is teaching and all the other faculties as well. In History honours there are a total of 7 papers of which 3 are DSC(discipline-specific course )and the other 4 are for your skill, ability enhancement courses which are AEC, VAC, SEC, and GE papers these papers can change by the student in every semester if you continue your get paper to 4 semesters then you will also get a minor degree in your ge(general elective ) subject each DSC paper and GE paper, the Total maximum mark is 160 out of 90 marks for the theory exam,30 marks for internal assessment, and 40 marks for continuous assessment

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
