Memories Of Nit Durgapur

Course curriculum is quite good in department. We are being taught very good mechanical subjects which will help us during our placements , in Higher studies and also during the Gate Examination. Curriculum also contains labs ,which provide us the practical knowledge of our branch. Curriculum makes us strong to face the real or corporate world. AI and ML should be added in the course to make it more practical. It will enhance the knowledge of students.

Internship opportunities are provided mainly during the 3 rd year and in the final year also . 6 month intern companies approaches for final year students. Interns are provided on the role of data analyst, data engineer , software development and for field enginner and many also. Stipend depend upon the company and the role for which you are hired. Sometimes , it can be 50k and for sometime it can be 20k . You can also do projects under proffesor's or you can apply in various IIT's through their summer and winter research programmes.

Placements of our college is very good. In 2024, more than 70% percent students are placed in my college. Many good companies come in my college like Apple , Amazon , Flipkart and many more. Almost every branch has a placement percentage of 75% . Some students not sit for placement and opt for higher studies . Highest package is almost 60 lakhs and minimum is 3.5(tcs ninja) . My plans after the degree is to do job. I can also prepare for cat exams in the Future. But that is the second priority of mine.

Semester Registration fees is almost same for every year students but it is increased every time(5-10k) for first year students. For General students, fees is cateogrised in three parts 1)The students having family income (less than 1 lakh) will have to pay 13,800 rupees for each semester. 2)The students having family income between (1 lakh-5 lakh) will have to pay 34000 approx for each semester. 3)The students having family income more than 5 lakhs will have to pay 76000 approx for each semester. SC,ST and PWDs Students have to pay 14k approx. Scholarship's are only given to girl's students,SC and ST students only

Campus life is very good in my college . You can find many trees, fresh air , play grounds and one pond . Campus looks more beautiful at night. You can take the joy of campus at night. There is also a canteen shop in the college for boys only. Our library contains more books and every kind of books are available in it. The classrooms are good ,it conain good bench ,AC and Projector . Inter hall competition and Inter Nit tournament are organised by our college. Our college also has a gym which is free for the students . Our college also provide coaches for every sports to prepare us for Inter Nit's. Our college has many clubs and socities. Our college also has a NGO named BMEP. It provide education to poor durgapur local childrens.

Hostel facility are quite good in my college . Eavey year students have been provided their own hostels. Sanitation is provided good in each hostel. Every day hostel's are cleaned . We are getting good water from water purifier . Meal quality is good and menu is decided by the students in each hostels. Meal quality is improving day by day. Registration process of our hostels are counducted during admission every year.

The NIRF Ranking of this college during my admission time is around 5/6. This college is also present in West bengal. College Placements are good in the college. My some school seniors had also done their graduation from this college. I had participated in Josaa counselling during my time. I had applied for many NIT's and GFTI's like Nit Jamshedpur, Nit Patna and Nit allahabad etc. I also want to take admission in Nit Jamshedpur , but i was rejected there. Counselling happens on the basis of your rank and cateogry. It is a game of luck. It is not present in our hands. Admission process is quite good in our college.In our time ,it happens online. But nowdays ,it happens offline.

Faculty to student ratio is almost 5:1 . Student and Faculty student realtionship depend's upon both the teacher and student.Our college contain good proffesor's ,so the bonding is quite good.Most of them are very supportive.They always encourage us and give us confidence.My Favourite Mechanical department teachers are Bera sir and Rana sir.There is no bad proffesor in my department. There is midsesems,CA-1 and End sems exams in each semester. There is also supply and backlogs exam occurs. CA-1 and Midsems are quite easy but end sem is quite tough.In Endsem , you have to cover the whole semester of each subject.So,it is tough
