Remarks

It is a good college at an overall level. You go high if you work hard. You go low if you do nothing. Work hard to achieve your goal you will surely find a better future. The college offers various opportunities but you must be there to grab them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It is well designed. The course curriculum is designed according to suggestions from experts sent by the central Govt called TEQIP. (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme). The committee is dedicated to receiving feedback from students and faculties to keep the curriculum up to date and to meet the present demands.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college has a separate department for training and placement. Though out the year A lot of companies visit the campus to recruit students to their company for the summer internship. The stipend is decided by the company and the college has no say in it.

Placement Experience

4.5

There are a lot of placement opportunities in the college. If you study well during your course. Then you are sure to leave college with a good package in a good company. The placement packages are highest for CSE and IT students. Students of other departments also end up with good companies with a decent package.

College Events

4.5

A hell lot of activities are celebrated throughout the year. There are 3 major fests in our college 1)Aarohan-The techno-management fest.2) Aavishkar- The technical fest and 3) Rectasy-The cultural fest. Apart from these various other clubs organize various events like E-Summit and The Quizzing cup.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is divided in the following way: 1.Family income less than 1 lakh/SC/ST students: No Tuition fees. 2) Family income between 1 to 5 lakhs: One-third of semester fees. 3) Family income greater than 5 lakh: Full semester fees. Full semester fees are Rs. 62500 Because of this structure, the fees are affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has an institute scholarship for people whose family income is low and the student has a good academic background. The SBI bank inside the campus has an educational loan with an interest rate of 8% which most students avail.

Campus Life

4.5

The sports culture is good. The annual sports tournament is held every year for, college students. Apart from taht, an Inner NIT sports tournament is also held where students from various NITs compete against each other.

Hostel Facilities

4

It is 4 out of 5 for me. The basic facility is always there. The wifi works at a decent speed most of the time. The washrooms have the option of Geyser so u have access to warm during winter. The food is good and hygenic.3 students per room. But the hostel is a little old now. A new hostel is under construction by the authority.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a strong alumni network. Regular seminars are being held by the alma maters on various topics. The alumni visit the college and give us the various opportunities available for us and extend their support in their companies.

Exam Structure

The exam is well structured. The schedule is decided by the college itself after keeping in mind the interest of the students. A gap of 1-2 days is provided after every exam. The answer sheets are checked by the teacher who took that particular course. Students are shown answer scripts and after their satisfaction. The faculty sends the marks to the academic section and the result is officially declared.

Admission

For getting admission in this college, I had to appear for an All India level Entrance exam called JEE- Main. The exam was conducted during the first week of April. There are two modes of the exam online and offline. I had opted for the offline mode. After the exam, the result will be declared and an all India rank will be allotted to me. My rank was 20679. Then centralized counseling was conducted for admission in various NITs, IITs, and other Central Funded Institutions. I filled my choices according to my course of preference and branch. There was a total of 6 rounds of counseling. I was alloted electrical engineering in NIT Durgapur in the 6th round. After the seat was allotted to me I had to report at the reporting center physically in person to accept the allotted seat with all original documents and a seat acceptance fee of Rs. 45000. After the seat was allotted, I need to go to my college at a given date with all the necessary documents to complete my admission process.

Faculty

4

I would say some faculties possess excellent knowledge and have an immense understanding of their course whereas there are faculties as well who have knowledge but their teaching style is so outdated that it gets very difficult to relying on the classroom teaching alone to understand the topic taught by the teacher.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
