Course Curriculum Overview

4

?NIT DGP’s curriculum provides a solid foundation in core subjects, which is essential for students pursuing engineering or technical fields. The core subjects are comprehensive and aligned with other top engineering programs in India, covering theoretical knowledge and technical skills that are valuable for both industry and academia. ?skill based: Core engineering fields could benefit from modules on interdisciplinary skills, like product development or basic coding skills for non-CS branches, which can be increasingly relevant in today’s job market. ?Research Preparation: For students interested in further studies, especially in technical research, NIT Durgapur’s curriculum provides a strong foundation, though it might benefit from even more research-driven assignments and early exposure to research methodology. ? There could be a greater focus on project-based learning, where students work on comprehensive projects spanning multiple semesters, instead of smaller, isolated projects. ?Offering more elective options that allow students to explore interdisciplinary topics would add value. For instance, introducing entrepreneurship, design thinking, or sustainable engineering could help students develop a more rounded skill set. ? I think some of subjects are difficult to study so there must be some gap between the papers. And mainly for some subjects we can get shortage of time.

Internships Opportunities

4

No, I haven't opted for internship since I am a 2nd year student. The internships are meant for final and pre final year students. Almost 80% of the students participating in the internship drive have obtained the internships. The companies that came for internships include Microsoft, Apple, Reliance etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I am from open category i have paid 1st sem fee around: 1,11,100( institute fee)+ 18600(mess fee) 2nd sem around:90600+18600(mess fee) So total first year fee was-2,38,900. 2nd to 4th year I will be paying about:2,18,400. ?Tution fee:62500 ?Admission fee:3500(only for 1st sem) ?Institute caution money:10000(only for 1st sem) Refundable ?convocation fee:1000(only for 1st sem) ?Alumni Activity fee:1000(only for 1st sem) ?Institute Development fee:2000 ?Training and placement fee:1500 ?Laboratory fee:2000 ?Library charge:1200 ?Computing and Internet charge:3000 ?Examinations fee:1200 ?Electrcity and Water charge:1700 ?Student Activity fund:2500 ?Comprehensive insurance premium, health care and Well being fund:1500 ?Hostel seat rent :10000 ?Hostel Establishment charge:1500 ?Hostel caution money:5000(Refundable) ?mess charge:18600 For general EWS(economically weaker section)/OBC there is fee remission of 2/3 of tution fee. So they have to pay 1/3of tution fee and other fee are fixed. For SC/ST there is full remission of tution fee.but they have to pay other fee which are mentioned above . Also for students which family income is <1 lakh they have to pay 1/3 of tution fee. For students which family income is >1lalh and <5lakh they have to pay 2/3 of fees.

Campus Life

3

Recstacy and aarohan are the two fests of this college. Aarohan is the tech fest whereas the recstacy is the cultural fest. Both the fest are held in march . Our college has huge library which consist of vast specification of books around 20k book are in library. Our college provide good opportunities for sports like kho- kho ,football, basketball ,badminton, lawn tennis . Mainly the student face problem in academia due to work stress in club or social group but they can balanced it.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel room consist of three roomies which are supplied by 3 lamp.3 bed,3 chair,3 almirah,3 table,2 fans ,3 switch board. Mesh meal is of poor quality and they don't follow any fucking menu. For registration process in hostel first you have to submit hostel fee and mess fee and some of antiragging affidavit ,undertaking of student and parent etc. Hostel is mandatory for every students.

Admission

I had apply for National Institute of Technology, jamsedpur but i had choosen this college over it because of it's nirf ranking which was good from that college and i had researched that core electrical was good from that college. I want to go for nit jaipur but my jee mains rank was 20k and nit jaipur electrical seat was closed around 18k so i didn't make it there. Jossa counselling was medium between me and my college admission they fixed my seat .eligibility criteria for electrical engineering branch was around 22k for other state and 27k for home state for open category. Admission was quite easy when my seat was fixed i had to visit college and some document were asked by them it was easy process.

Faculty

4

?faculty to student ratio is 1:4. ? like I am from electrical department i like my faculties They are little bit strict but they teach better Not only core but how to survive in that fields of electrical engineering .dr somya chattarjee sir ,dr suman halder sir. ?I didn't like faculty of chemical engineering department they are very lazy and slacker. ?they are two exam in each sem mid sem and end sem mid sem carry 25 marks and end sem carry 60 marks and internal assessments marks which is in the hand of professor is 15. The exam is of moderate type easily any of average students can get about 50-60 marks in each subjects but some of students who are not serious about exam they got supply . Around 5 to 6 students in each department got a supply. I think Course curriculum is upto the marks they tach us the useful things which have application in real life.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
