Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because of my ineterest in this field and it honestly really helped me and my thoughtn process so wide while understanding our society and how dynamic it is. Whichever course you choose really helps you in further studies and competive exams as well. However, there can be more interactive and field work projects which can help students to have more exposure to tge outside world.

Internships Opportunities

4

there are different internship oppurttunities that our college provides, some are paid and some are unpaid, but they all help you to built experience plus ypur knowledge. I did an internship in my fianl year of graduation with an organisation called manraahi which basically conducted social out reach programme in orfder to spread awareness about mental health, my role as an intern was to conduct sessions with studenst of schools and colleges and to educazte them about mental health.

Placement Experience

1

There are different placements for different courses, you can aplly for placements in your final year. There is a very systematic way of holding placements, there are sessions and personal interview. The college offers great placements with 4-14 lakh per year according to different job profiles.

Fees and Financial Aid

I completed my graduation from Hindu college, university of delhi. I opted for the course Bachelors of Art [sociology honors].My college fee was around 17000 anually for my course. Apart from this we had to a sum of 600-700 for our semester exam. My college stands among the top5 colleges of delhi and it has maimtained its position since a long time now. Inspite of being a prestigious college, my fee was comparatively much affordable than many other colleges of delhi. We did not had to pay any other development fees or compulsory charges apart from this. There is a slight change in the fee structute of different course but it dosent vary much. There are also scholarships and reservations as well.

Campus Life

5

There are so many different festivals and functions, seminars and so much going on throught the year. The most talked about event of Hindu is the RITES, it is held anually there are so many games, stalls and the best part is the music event done by any of the famous celebrity singers. So many known and big people are alumnis of hindu, such as Imtiaz Ali, Arnab Gowswami and many more. Every deparetment has its own freshers and farewell program plus there are different functions helf dor diwali or pongal and what not.

Admission

Hindu college had always been on my priority since my school days. after completing my 12th boards, I started applying in various colleges keeping hindu at the top. Before I could make it to Hindu,I got admission in IP college for women, but in the third cut off i made it to hindu and therefore I took admission in Hindu college. The admission process that year[2020] was not that complicated as it is now. Idid not had to write any CUET. We had the cut off system, and i got admission in the preffered college and also got the course which i wanted. After clearing the cut off I just had to fill the form of the college and pay the fees. The overall process was quite smooth and comfortable.

Faculty

4

The faculty members are really knowledgeable and professional with a lot of experience, holding PHDs and good degrees. we had 6 semesters in total, every semester had around 4-5 subjects plus there is also an acemdemic writing paper which helps us to know how to write good content. The exams are not way too difficult, but never take them tpo lightly cause that may result in failure and you will have to rewrite that paper in the next semester.

Interview Experience

4

I did not had to face any interview for my admission since it was the cut off system. Therefore i di not have any prior experience of this. After 2020 cuet has started for the admission process of Delhi colleges, which is a an MCQ exam conducted on ypur particular course, whose pattern varies from coursze to course.

Night Life

4

There are so many cafes and different stalls as well around the college. The very famous Kamla market attracts every student and is a hangout space for the kids. every college has its own hostel as well, the college fees vary.

Other Applied Colleges

The course curriculum is a bit too theoretical and less practical. The exams in the college takes places every month which are seasonals and are for internal marking and then we have semester exams in every 6 months which accounts for the external marking.

Placement Experience:

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

The course is really very interesting. It keeps up with our expectations. Involves both practical and theoretical aspects to make sure that we are able to face the real world. Also, with the help of the guidance that we get from teachers we're able to ace both the aspects. The examinations also are based on applications, thus, helping us to enhance ourselves in all possibilities.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself is prestigious and is mostly opted for by people who plan either on preparing for the Civil Services or those who want to pursue academia. The course structure is framed in a manner that you don't just simply study history there, but you ingrain a critical viewpoint of a young historian. The faculty of History Hons. has some of the best Professors in the University, although you will in any course at any college find some teachers below your expectations, you don't have to bear them for more than 1 or 2 semesters. Passing the exams is not very difficult, but yes scoring above average is. If you get a GPA ranging from 6 to 7, you've performed fine. Above that is considered a Very good performance in Hons. courses of Social sciences at Delhi University. there are semester exams every 5- 6 months
